Yea I wonder if the resort is willing to negotiate since I won't be using their photographer or videographer? Or maybe I can keep the videographer for the reception?

I will be using the resort for hair and make up...i plan on doing a trial hair and make up the day before..and show them a photo of the hairstyle i want...i will probably take my own make up...

From the reviews I have seen earlier in this post Tropical Studios doesn't do good work and they don't have good reviews. If you look through a lot of the brides previous reviews they tell you not to book them, plus their packages are really expensive.

I also wanted to give you guys a head up if you have more than 50 people coming to your wedding don't get the buffet! The menu is horrible you get grilled chicken and beef tenderloin, like who wants that for their wedding? I am going back and forth with Yanna now because I do not want to switch over to the buffet and I would like to have the original per plate GOLD menu.

 

the wedding presentation packet they sent me says that groups over 50 must be buffet...I'm going to ask my friend that got married there what she did...her wedding was like 150 ppl...i dont think she served chicken and beef ternderloin because i recall she said she chose from the silver menu...ill let you know what she says...dang i hope Yanna works something out for you..

Yea I agree with you. I think it's ridiculous we have to pay per person for additional guests when they're staying there and then still have a buffet dinner. If I'm paying so much extra for each person then I don't want a buffet dinner.

I am going to use HDC as well, but since my package includes 50 Tropical Studios photos and the video I am keeping it as well. They won't negotiate pricing if you dont use everything the package comes with. Either you use it or you lose it.

@@Ariana2015 The photos that come with the package are specifically for the ceremony only. You can't switch it. At that point you'll have to start looking at their packages. I'd just have them both there for the ceremony and then you can keep HDC for photos after the ceremony/reception (and before the ceremony if you're hiring them to take photos of you and hubby while getting ready)

I am keeping Tropical Studios for my wedding because they are recording the ceremony, plus its an extra 50 pictures thats already included in my package, so why not? I will just use HDC for my real pics. The buffet has different options you can get lobster tail if you want but it will be 80 per person . The buffet that Yanna sent me that is the gold menu buffet is grilled chicken breast and beef tenderloin. I am not renting out any restaurants, I am using the ballroom since I have 50 people plus a really big dance floor.

Do you mind sharing the menus with us so we can get an idea of what we may potentially be dealing with? If you want to send directly to me in a private message that works. I spoke to my friend and she did end up with the buffet option and she chose the lobster tail. She said intotal she paid around $100pp, which makes sense (the $80 for the food and $20 something for the premium bar). I dont know about you, but I'm not triyng to spend that per head.
