So which restaurant are you having your wedding at?  Is there a cap on the amount of guests you can have if using this restaurant option?

Just to clarify: You are paying a fee for the restaurant (for ex. $1,000 flat fee) and on top of that, you are paying $60-70 per guest.

Or is it that you are just paying a $1,000 fee and this covers the food and service for all guests regardless of the guest count.

Paying the restaurant fee- ($500) and on top of the fee $60-70 pp including the reception and cocktail party. I don't know if there is a cap?? They also offered a buffet since we have 40 people and we were concerned about picking one food option.. it is still cheaper than paying $2500 ++ for a package, because they make you pay the $500 fee on top of that anyways and then per every extra guest over 20 guests... Hope this makes sense

Ya.. You pay the set fee for the restaurant (which you have to pay above the package regardless!!) and then it's 60-70 per person depending if you pick silver or gold... Because we have 40 people it's a much better option

Hey ladies!! Just be careful with your calculations...don't forget that there is a 26% tax (sales tax and service fee) that is in addition the $60-$70 per person, and also that the open bar fee (which is REQUIRED to have by the resort when you are having any sort of event - this is to be sure your guests won't just go to another bar to get the free drinks) is $10/pp plus the 26% tax.  So sometimes it is right around the same price, if not more $$ to NOT do one of the packages.  (The packages already include the taxes)

Also, the free package doesn't include any photos or video of the wedding, your hair/makeup, etc.

Just something to think about!!

If you have 40 people and don't do a wedding package and the dinner is $70/pp, you are paying $2800 + $728 tax = $3528.  Then for the open bar @ $10/pp you are paying $400 + $104 tax, so your total is now $4032, plus the $500 for the restaurant is $4532.  (With no extras)

To do the Love Wedding package its $2399, then $2016 total for the 20 people not included in the package for dinner & drinks, which = $4915.  So you're only saving $383, but not getting hair/makeup, centerpieces, any pictures, or any video included.

Just make sure you get ALL prices from the WC and know exactly what you will be charged for, so you don't have any surprises.

There are caps on how many guests you can have in each place, and if you are over a certain number of guests you have to have a buffet.  (I think all the numbers are on one of the wedding packets.)

Has any of the bride or guests experienced any illness? I hear these occurences seem to happen frequently in the past few months, as stated on Trip Advisor. I am having a buffet for the dinner option and highly concern. In terms of the packages, I find the ultimate package Ideal because of the add on such as;  a band, photo, video and etc are included.

We had 160 guests at our wedding in November, and no one got food poisoning!!  We had the buffet at the wedding and everyone LOVED it.

Some people did get upset stomachs bc of the difference in the food, but they just took immodium and were fine (its like going to any other strange place - your body isn't used to it!) No one got food poisoning!!

Hello :) This site has been brilliant to date and thank you for all the advice shared to date :) Can I add my date to the list please - 28th May 2013? Been wondering if any of you have had your wedding streamed live to family and friends at home? Apparently it is possible if I talk to the Internet people when I get there - trouble is we would need to bring the equipment with us in order to set it up so would like some idea in advance I will email the resort to clarify but wondered if anyone had successfully done it and if so what the dos / donts and costs involved were? Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
