Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am getting married at Dream La Romana October 19, 2013. I have tried contacting HDC via their website and I never heard back. Yanna sent me the info for Tropical Studios, but I figured they would cost more than other studios. Did you call or email them? Where you happy with the results? Any information on HDC would great!

Thank you all for sharing your experience. I am also set to marry this year (aug 24) and have some concerns. Recently, I have been hearing hotel guests experiencing food poisoning. Has any of the bride or guests experienced any illness? I hear these occurences seem to happen frequently in the past few months, as stated on Trip Advisor. I am having a buffet for the dinner option and highly concern. In terms of the packages, I find the ultimate package Ideal because of the add on such as;  a band, photo, video and etc are included.

Thanks Jen and Jessica for your responses. I went ahead and booked the Ultimate Package. I actually just got my confirmation from Jenny!!! I'm so excited :-)

I talked to my Fiance about the photo issue and he said it won't be a problem because both of his uncles own photography studios locally (one lives in Dominican Republic and the other one lives in Haiti). So they can capture whatever the hotel photographers don't. In terms of professional quality, he is allowing me to make up for that by splurging on engagement photos. So I'm happy again :-)

We are expecting about 50 people so I'm sure we'll have to addo on a lot. I will probably be back on here with more questions. But again, thanks so much for your help so far!

Stephanie Welcome!! We are set to marry in November. Since we are having about 40 people I calculated that it is cheaper for us to go with the free package and "buy out" dinner because the packages only cover 20 people. So to pay the extra 60-70 dollars per person over the 20 covered is much more money than to just pay for dinner for everyone and not pay for the package. This is also because I don't want all the "extras" in the packages...

Congratulations & welcome!!  We used the Ultimate Wedding Package and then added on everything else we wanted and it was definitely worth it! (We had a larger group though).  How many people are you expecting?  Tropical Studio does great pictures but bc they are on the resort (convenient) they are about 3x-4x more expensive than HDC, Caribbean Emotions, or most of the other photographers you would bring in.  We had a videographer & photographer from 3-10pm, and photobooth for the reception, the raw video footage, edited DVD, ALL pictures on CD, 350 prints, and a coffee table book for $2650 from HDC. Tropical Studio wanted $300/hr for just the videographer.

sheesh! you got a better deal than me! what a bummer...we paid tons more for less...and we got married on the same day!

"buy out"?  Meaning you paid a fee to reserve a restaurant for all your guest?  I didn't know that was an option vs paying the additional money for people over 20.  Thanks for the information!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
