Here is a picture of the private beach gazebo next to the jungle restaurant at DLR. The view ocean is behind and to the right.

Actually, the jungle restaurant is the other side of the resort on the main stretch of beach. The wedding gazebo is in the far corner of the resort opposite Building 7/ the preferred pool.

In regards to getting married on the main beach I would certainly advise against it. Having seen several here in 2010, there was zero privacy, and many (speedo-clad) guests had no concept of what was acceptable personal space.

I'm not finding anything about the Newlywed package, but I am thinking that it might be the Honeymoon Package that's included all three of the packages?  Here's the information that I have on that.

"The honeymoon package includes: Tropical fruit plate or petit four and Bottle of champagne on the wedding night, Special turn down service on the wedding night and Champagne breakfast in bed (the morning following the wedding date."

I hope this helps.  I'm unsure of what else the Newlywed package could be.

Hello ladies,

a quick question regarding the silver dinner menu.

When selecting the food it says "Couple should pick one of each of the following: 1 Appetizer, 1 Soup, 1 Main Course and 1 Dessert"

Is that one of each that covers every guest?

Also, does anyone know what vegetarian options are available?

I'd appreciate any knowledge from those more in the know!

Thanks in advance,

Kim.

Hey ladies!!! Its been SO long since I've posted - so busy with the wedding planning!! 11.10.12 is getting here SO quickly!! We have 163 people booked so far, can't believe it!  We are using HDC & so happy we chose them from looking at everyones pictures!!

Gems2Wed2012 - Your wedding is in 7 weeks?  You should definitely contact the wedding coordinator to lock down a ceremony/reception location bc they do get booked up since the resort does more than one wedding a day, sometimes 3 or 4.  We are getting married at the garden gazebo - its not in the center of everything, its over back behind the preferred club area and there is nowhere for people to be walking behind the gazebo, so no one else will be in your pictures. People can see you if they're over there, but its a low traffic area of the resort.  Definitely contact Jenny asap though, I know that one can get booked quickly.  She should send you a package including all of the buffet options & pricing.

HI Jess! Can't believe it's almost here! You're wedding party and mine are going to dominate the hotel that week! I have 83 people going, not as exciting as 163 but I'm happy with the turn out. How's planning? I feel like in a much better place but there is still so much to do. Print programs, Escort cards, Itineraries, my stuff for the welcome bags...etc But I'll get it done. What day do you arrive? We should meet up for a drink :) I arrive 11/6 since my wedding is 11/9. What are you doing for hair and makeup? I'm a little nervous about the wedding staff, I'm doing a trial on Wed and am trying to have a plan B too ugh, the reviews on their makeup staff aren't super positive :/

Any-who, happy planning lady :)

JessMaine - Are you sure you have the right email for the wedding coordinators there? What email are you using? That's not like them to not respond especially since the wedding is so close. On the plus side, if you're positive that the deposit was taken for the date then you should he locked into that date. However, you definitely want to at least lock down times and places of the ceremony, reception, etc., bc they can fill up. My WC is Jenny but I can give you her email if its differet from the one you have.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
