Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself as I have been reading this forum non stop for last few weeks! Have got so much information and tips from you ladies it's been such a big help and really reassuring! We are getting married on 6th June 2013 at the garden gazebo, followed by cocktail hour on the pier and dinner on the beach ! Just wanted to asks if anybody knew, we are taking our own sound system with us, is there an electrical hook up on the beach or will this have to be a 'battery operated ' system? Love hearing the wedding reviews and pictures , can't wait to show you mine! Dani x

Hello!

First of all, congratulations to all the brides!

I'm new in the forum and have been reading non-stop for a while, lots of useful information and great ideas, brides here are so creative I'm just amazed! I'm also getting married at Dreams La Romana on April 20, 2013. The ceremony will be at the Gazebo (cocktail probably in the same garden), and the reception at the Seaside Grill. I love the wedding reviews, they are so helpful, and the planning threads are also great, I'm very happy that I found this forum :)

Hi MysticalRose,

I just checked my deposit form, but since mine is in Spanish it doesn't say "concept or concepto" -in Spanish- anywhere. However, sometimes they ask the "concept" for the payment in which it would be probably "wedding pack", "reservation of wedding" or something similar. Sorry that I cannot be of more help, I hope someone with English form will help you out with this!

Hi all,

I'm due to fly out to La Romana in 7 weeks for my wedding :)

Just had a few questions I wondered if anyone could give some advice

1. What are the location options for the reception I know there is seaside deck (which I believe you have to pay for) and like beach or pool. Is there anywhere else??

2. Do they do a buffet/BBQ option and if so does anyone know how much pp?

3. Has anyone used the resort for hair and makeup?

4. Do I need to send translated documents out with me prior to arrival or do I just take them with me?

I think this is all for know if anyone can help that would be great. Its getting so close and I feel like I have little information to what I should be doing. I'm getting nervous I will not do something!

Thanks in advance

Gemma x

Congratulations to all the new brides for 2013. I'm happy to see the future brides for 2013 at Dreams La Romana. This thread has been so helpful. However, I was wondering could any of you provide information on the room rates for the wedding groups? Do you find the packages/fees reasonable for? To all the newly married brides, do you find the wedding gazebo private and not centered in the middle of a busy area?

Any feedback would be highly appreciated....locking in a venue has become the only stressful factor in this whole process. yikes.

Hey ladies!!! Its been SO long since I've posted - so busy with the wedding planning!! 11.10.12 is getting here SO quickly!! We have 163 people booked so far, can't believe it!  We are using HDC & so happy we chose them from looking at everyones pictures!!

Gems2Wed2012 - Your wedding is in 7 weeks?  You should definitely contact the wedding coordinator to lock down a ceremony/reception location bc they do get booked up since the resort does more than one wedding a day, sometimes 3 or 4.  We are getting married at the garden gazebo - its not in the center of everything, its over back behind the preferred club area and there is nowhere for people to be walking behind the gazebo, so no one else will be in your pictures. People can see you if they're over there, but its a low traffic area of the resort.  Definitely contact Jenny asap though, I know that one can get booked quickly.  She should send you a package including all of the buffet options & pricing.

hi wedding date twin! i can't believe it's getting sooo close!!

have you had any luck in getting decor (flowers/linen etc) options from yanna or jenny? or did you just send over pics of what you wanted and they told you what they cost? I'm trying to figure out what they can actually do, but yanna just keeps telling me, what do i want. i have no idea! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
