Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

It took me FOREVER to catch up on this forum! I haven't secured my date yet, but we are looking at 12.12.12 at Dreams! We are coming to D.R. via cruise ship and leaving the same day! Yanna said we could work it out, we just need to plan EVERY detail before hand!

Had some questions for you ladies!

If I book the Dreams of Love Package, what types of drinks are included? Yanna mentioned that it comes with the Silver open bar. Does anyone know how long the open bar lasts or what is included in the Silver open bar?

I was hoping to have my ceremony at the wedding gazebo and the reception at the SSG (Since we are coming via cruise ship, the ceremony I think will be at 12 and the reception closer to 1 - HOT! We need shade). Does anyone know if the SSG is included in the Dreams of Love Package? I don't want to rent the entire thing, I would just like our tables set in there and then order off either the Silver menu.

If anyone has photos of the SSG reception, cakes they have at dreams or anything else that may help me, can you please forward?

If anyone has the menus for the silver dinner and the SSG, or any open bar menus, can you please forward also?

Email is xxbabyangel129xx@aol.com

Thank you sooo much ladies!!!

Kelly

@Clare-Marie - my plans are going great. Right now I am still pricing everything out and have not booked yet. We are actually thinking of a date during fall 2013 - it seems so far away! Have you looked into having dinner at one of the restaurants since you have a small party? I believe they will set up a special table for you that is semi-private. I also heard there is a room available in between two of the restaurants that seats up to 12 people. Someone else might have more details about this or you could ask Jenny.

@jessicalynneh - thank you! We don't have a guest count yet, but it might be around 40. I did get the buffet prices from Jenny since my last post, but thanks for your offer. Hope your planning is going well!

@Kelly Horton - Hi and welcome! I think I can help with a few of your questions. You can download the wedding guide if you haven't yet here: http://www.dreamsresorts.com/drelr/plan-your-wedding.html . It has the silver and gold menus. I do not know what types of drinks are included with the silver bar, but I am interested too if anyone else knows! As for the SSG, I posted above what Jenny answered when I asked a few days ago. The beach/pool/ballroom receptions are included, but the SSG deck or Oceana deck have a fee - $300 & $500. Jenny also sent me another PDF called "wedding presentation" which I will email to you right now. It has some additional pictures that might help you.

I got your email, thanks Marji! The pictures were helpful. So the Oceana Restaurant is $500 on top of the Dreams of Love package, thanks. I emailed Yanna today to confirm the budget that I set for the ceremony and reception since she hasn't emailed me back in awhile!

The thing that sucks is that since we are coming via cruise ship & we are not staying at the hotel, we have to pay extra for everything! But, it is fair, I understand :) We have a small party, about 20 including bride and groom. We are not going to do any music since we are having a reception back at home also. We are also not going to have a maid of honor or best man either since a lot of our friends and family can't make it.

I already paid half for my dress, so I'm waiting for that to come in. I ordered wedding favors. We are doing beach totes, sunscreen, handheld fans, tissues and starfish bottle openers :) Should be fun. Our colors are baby blue and white - so as soon as I can confirm everything, I will order baby blue sashes for the chairs and sheer baby blue tablecloths. I will also order baby blue and white lanterns for the gazebo :)

My step mom is working on my flowers. Since we cannot take real flowers on the ship, she is putting together the bouquets for me.

Alright ladies, well happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
