Don't know if there is a minimum BUT my guest count was only 17 + bride & groom = so 19 total.

Does anyone know if there is a minimum  number of people needed to have the beach reception?  Has anyone else been told that they don't do bon fires anymore?

We did a sit down menu.  I created a menu with two entree selections for the guest to choose and the servers prepared the meals.  They use the barefoot grill to cook and prepare the food when having the beach reception.

Hello fellow brides (to-be),

Happy new year to all and congrats to the new MRS. It's been a while since I've been on the site. Lots of progress on my end, most important being,  I found a dress :) I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I also have picked out the bridesmaid dress which are gorgeous.

Date is booked, 11.9.12 but most of you knew that already. white gazebo is reserved and I'm working on reserving Oceana restaurant for my reception.

I need some opinions for photographers, it seems everyone uses HDC, any other recommendations. I like their work but am looking for alternate options.

Also, music is extremely important to me. Any DJ recommendations? I want a PARTY and want to have someone who's a good MC, who knows how to feel the crowd out and get them dancing!

Congrats to all the new brides on the forum!

-Jess

Whoo whoooo!!! Been a while since I posted. Wedding planning had to stop for school, but now school is almost over and I can't wait!

341 posts since last I was here. Took me a couple hours, but all caught up now! Congratulations to all of the new married ladies, thank you for all of the new tips!

No bonfire? Major disappointment, I was really looking forward to having that on our last night at the resort.

Our travel agent told us the schedule didn't come out until April, but I see some of you November brides already have yours. Hmm, will have to get on that!

Invites sent, website made, date booked. Saw the kerfluffle with times, so will make sure our time is booked as well.

Engagement photos done, guest book done, family . . . difficult. Dress . . . difficult. Hahaha, but isn't that always the way of it!

Number of people who have payed their deposit: Just the FI and myself. *sigh*

I added myself on the 29th of October!

We just sent out our invitations, booked our photographer, and I found the perfect dress at Christmas! Working on finalizing flights and booking resturants now.

Questions for my fellow DLR brides:

1. BM dresses are coral and I am trying to decide on another accent wedding colour (not turquoise because the water is already that colour) Any suggestion or beter yet-pictures of your weddings with coral in them?

2. We are trying to decide on resturants for the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. Any ideas? If the wedding is outside, do you think an outdoor dinner is too much?

3. How many other brides are registering for gifts? We are going with the "your presence is your gift" idea so far, but like the idea of a honeymoon registry for those not attending or people who want to bring a gift anyway.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
