Hi girls,

I'm really disappointed. I booked the seaside grill deck for our dinner 10 months ago and at the time I asked Tiara for a full quote for everything. I was told $30pp for the silver menu plus tax and service @ 26%, and an open bar for $10pp plus 26%. That was all she said. Now Jenny is trying to charge me $300-$500 to use the deck!!!! I told her I got a full quote from Tiara and at no point did she mention a charge for the deck - I mean i'm already paying over $50 per person for food and drink that they have technically already paid for with their all inclusive holiday, but I dont mind that because I understand the costs of set up and service for a private party. But I have no idea why I would have to pay extra for the deck! Anyway I told her that Tiara never mentioned a charge and she said "we can change the prices without notification (its written in all our informations)" I have just emailed her back to say that nowhere on the quote did it say that the prices were subject to change and that I booked their resort on the basis of this quote. Why does everyone seem to have last minute issues with the resort??!!! what do you think? msncry.gif

To be honest, when booking the Seaside Grill, the deck isn't included and it is indeed an additional charge.  Tiara should have told you that when she offered you a price quote.

Besides the day pass for off property guest, those are the menu prices.  Are you getting a wedding package? How many guest do you plan on having?

Dreams of love (Silver menu):

Menu us$ 30.00 + 26% each

Cocktail US$ 8.00+ 26% each

Open bar US$ 10.00 + 26% each

Dreams Ultimate (Gold menu):

Menu us$ 35.00 + 26% each

Cocktail US$ 10.00 + 26% each

Open Bar US$ 10.00 + 26% each

Guess who not staying at the hotel should pay US$ 20.00 (per person) in additional to the prices for the menu selected.

The couple should make a selection from the menu: 1 entrance, 1 soup, 2 main courses and 1 dessert, then all your guess will received the set menu on the table and select one of the main courses.

Thanks for the replies ladies! I'm so glad I found this forum, and I'm sure as the planning process continues I will have many questions. I'm so stressed right now trying to get all of the info I need to make my final decisions on location/date.....I'll feel a lot better once that's done, although I'm sure I'll just be on to the next thing to stress over...lol

Jessicalynneh - I PM'd you with my email address if you can forward that info/pricing :)

Anudrm - I am not sure if I am going to get a wedding package or not. I do believe we will have at least 20 people, but I'm thinking we may end up with 30 or more. I'm just concerned about the extras per person that start to add up above and beyond the packages - trying to do my budget up.

Does anyone know if any of the wedding packages(which include coctail hours/dinner for up to 20 ppl) include any alcohol at the dinner?

No, I originally was told that the Seaside deck was available and as I got closer it wasn't.  So I had to move it to the beach, BUT since I was promised the deck, Jenny offered to put a dance floor on the beach at no extra cost.  Only because I was promised the deck and some how it was booked so I couldn't use it.

Our reception was on the beach and the guest were allowed to order alcohol through the servers, so I am more than positive that there is alcohol available during dinner also.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
