I LOVED the beach gazebo! It was so private. I do wish you could have seen the ocean directly behind. But, it was so amazing to hear the waves crashing throughout the ceremony. I will never forget hearing that sound.

During my stay there were several weddings at the garden gazebo, which is right in the middle of everything. We even watched one from the preferred pool. I also loved how the beach gazebo has greenery all around, so I could walk up behind everybody and wait, not being seen unitl I walked 'down the isle'.

Really looking forward to hearing more reviews; especially from people who have wed at the beach gazaebo- this wasn't available when I was last there and is something I'm really interested in- it seems so much better and more private than the alternative that was there last year! Can anyone share their experiences of it??

This sounds wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing and I can't wait to read your review!! Congratulations on your wedding and I'm so pleased to hear it was so perfect :).

Another quick question about the beach gazebo if you don't mind- I'm hoping to get married barefoot, but remember from the main beach that sharp bits sometimes fall from the trees into the sand... how clear of this is the sand at this end of the resort?

We also worked with Apple, and those ladies are AMAZING! They will do anything for you! On the last night, Kenya even found out that I wasn't feeling too great, and I didn't eat my dinner. So she called me to see what she could get me and called room service to have tea and crackers sent up. And Walquiria sat with me for at least 30 minutes trying to get all my guests in rooms in buildings 4 and 5, so that we were all close. They are just great!

And I'll put it in my review...but ladies, I can't stress enough, if there is something you want, or something that isn't right, just ASK, and everyone will bend over backwards to fix it for immediately! Their cusomer service is beyond anything I could have dreamed of!

I am so happy to hear you had a good exprience as I did.  Walquiria was amazing, everyone there was they truly do aim to please.  Congrats on becoming a Mrs, your picture is beautiful!!

We were barefoot! and it was not problem. We wore our shoes right up to the entrance by the greenery. There is a rock path, so we walked on the grass around the rock to the sand. The day we got there we went to look at it and there was grass growing amounst the sand. We asked Jenny if they would rake it, and she said "of course, my pleasure!" as they did with everything.

Hair and make-up was definately my biggest worry. Not so much the make-up, as I had plenty of time to re-do if needed.  had my friend on stand by for hair, just in case. But Maria (Mary) did amazing. Before I left, I did a trial with my hair-stylist, and we took pictures of every step to take with me. It helped. It wasn't exactly how it was in the pictures, but I almost liked it better.

She did a trial with the make-up also. I did have to stop her from using the lip-gloss and mascara wand out of the tub - I just did those with my own at the room.

But everyone who sees the pictures, comments on the hair and make-up.

It was tough for me because it was so much more dramatic than I ever do, I'm pretty simple. But in pictures, it was amazing. She colored in my eyebrows, which I've never done, but it made a difference in the pics.

Kim, please feel free to post those, I'd appreciate that.  We did have a great time, we didn't allow the rain to stop us.  We used the "Oceana" for the reception, I highly suggest it, lots of privacy on that side of the hotel.

For the chairs, they do have silver they pretty much have any color you would like, they also have settings, overlays, flowers anything you can think of ;)

Tiffany chairs I was charged $145 RD which came up to $3.82 US, for transportation to and from they charged $400 RD/ $11 US.

Hello DLR brides! I have spent the weekend reading all 250+ pages of this forum and I am so thankful for the tips, pictures, and reviews! I am hoping to plan our wedding at DLR in late 2012, so we are still in the early phase. Thank you to all past brides and congrats to all future brides!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
