Hi Krod100! My MIL made the chair sashes but Jenny ordered the fabric & flowers for me for the gazebo. I highly recommend bringing or emailing Jenny (or Yanna if you're working with her) lots of photos. She made the gazebo look nearly identical to one of the photos I sent : )

Alright girls, it has been over 1 month from our amazing wedding at DLR and we are still wishing we were there, here are all our wedding pictures, we had our reception at the SSG, the setup was gorgeous (i brough the decorations and Yanna put everything together just like the pictures I showed her) and the food was the best food in the resort....the wedding cake was also super yummie!

There's a nice picture of the reception in the HDC album and lots of more little details on the 'joey and parents camera' folder...

I hope you have some good ideas from my pictures, I bought all the table runners from ebay and flowers & decor from walmart and chinatown everything cost less than 70 bucks.

Many people said it was not possible but someone from the resort recommended the priest to me, I reached to him on my own and also translated all the church papers myself. So don't let anything get on the way of your dreamy wedding, with a little effort anything is possible (well I guess speaking spanish helps too!)

Besos,

Dressa

Dressa,

Thank you for all the pictures! They looked amazing. Orange is also my color for the wedding ;)

I was wondering if the Priest you used was provided by the resort? Does he speak Spanish? How did you contact him?

Thank you in advance and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Dressa your pictures came out beautiful!! You looked stunning. We are leaving in 8 days and getting married in 13 and I have sooo many questions!!

-Did you just have the band at the reception at the SSG or did you do a DJ as well? Also, did you do first dances on the deck at the SSG and how was it, if so?

-Did the resort do your hair and makeup?

-Was your room in building 4 the preferred section and did you notice a difference?

-Did you do a cocktail hour at all and where did you have it?

-Did you ask the tables to be set up in the square formation? We are thinking of that also, or round tables. But we also wanted a sweetheart table for ourselves, and i don't know how to do that with round.

-Did you rent out the whole SSG or was it just sectioned off for you and your guests?

-Do they tell you when you arrive what day you will be meeting with the wedding coordinator to go over everything?

Any other advise you can give us upcoming brides? Sorry for all the questions, seeing your photos got me so excited! It will be here sooo soon! Thanks love!

-Krystal

For all other brides-to-be: I am going to Dreams La Romana this weekend to iron out all the details for my upcoming wedding in November.  If anyone has any requests for while I am down there, let me know and I can find out for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
