This is unacceptable and emailed Arnaud and emailed Yanna... This better be a form letter because I will freak. I do not take lightly to being screwed. I booked Arneaud in July of 2010, and now with only three weeks to going to the DLR, this is the last thing I need. Starting to wonder if they are going to change even more things about my contract :(

OMG Dana that is crazy - but honestly I dont think you have to worry - I got an email from Tiara saying that she got a list of all of the brides who had booked with HDC and they will not have a problem on their wedding day. I would imagine this is just a generic letter going out to all brides who havent yet communicated their photography arrangements to DLR. Please dont stress - you really shouldnt have to worry about this kind of thing 3 weeks out!!! you should be winding down now and getting excited! dont panic hon :) xxx

Hey Dana,

We are in the same boat 3 weeks till the wedding and we get this letter? That's crazy! We booked Arnaud 6 months ago, I really hope they will honor all of our contracts!

We really don't need this kind of stress right now. Arnaud said that he e-mailed Tiara a list of all of us who booked him but I'm waiting to hear from Yanna about all of this.

Let me know if you ladies hear anything from the wedding coordinators and I will do the same. I'm trying to stay positive but its a bit much, all these price changes since we booked,

Tiara not being there and now this with the photographers confused.gif and on top of all of this our airlines keep changing the flight times on us.

Maybe I'm over reacting... but I really hope that are no more surprises waiting for us.

I'm sure that once we land and have a few drinks all the stress will go away and we will have a great time.

Wish you ladies all the best!

When did she email you? I didn't get any emails from her. Or did you email her to confirm and she emailed back.  I really hope they honor the contract because this is ridiculous!

I'm not totally freaking out yet... I also got an email from Tiara when they changed the charge for the civil weddings and i'm having a "symbolic" one. I know my fiance got a very upset email from Arnaud, but it was a little unclear as if he did indeed send the list yet or not.

SOOOOO lets see what happens...

Chanelo - I'm assuming you asked Tiara about this and you got a response from her?

I'm REALLY trying to to let the stress and the worry creep in, but i can't help it... i'm going to be a wreck until i get there and confirm everything. I'm highly organized about every detail and have documented everything... but you never know I guess. :(

Personally I have not received email from anyone (although I was expecting for all girls to receive one as this change affects many...), but I will be emailing Yanna today and will try to get her to confirm that we are on the "list" and HDC will be on our wedding day!!! I will let you know as soon as I will get any response...

Hang in there ladies, i am sure it will all work out well :D

Hi girls, Yes i emailed Tiara to tell her that I had booked HDC and am expecting that there wont be a problem with this - she emailed me straight back and said "I received a list from HDC and your wedding is listed there, so you will not have any problem on your wedding day." This will be the case for us all so I wouldn't worry. :)

Hi All,

Went to the St Patrick's Parade to blow off steam today. Nothing like dancing around and Irish coffees to make you relax.

I did receive an email last night from Yianna. She confirmed that a list was sent to her and that there should not be a problem with my wedding. Obviously, not so with any future brides who want to book with an off-resort photographer.

To a certain extent I understand as a business that they want to service their bridal party fully. But this one threw me, as now i'm paranoid there will be more changes coming and they will not honor the items that I confirmed. I have been patient with a few unexpected changes and nodded my head and came to decision to let it go. But to get this email, regardless if it was in a "form letter" format. It enraged me and now i'm actually waiting for the other shoe to drop. I haven't been sleeping well since friday night. Its stressful enough planning a destination wedding, working full time and having family and friends, for any last minute "changes" to happen.

BUT like I said, Yianna was prompt in getting back to me and I guess I will accept that answer and be happy that they are honoring my contract. I just hope that Dreams Resorts will not dissapoint me on what I plan to be one of the most important trips and events of my life. I want to be excited... I want tell yell from the rooftop that they should get married at this resort because of the wonderful experience that I had. I guess in the end, when I have gone through everything and  when I write my review, I will know how I feel.

As long as nothing else changes from now and April 11th... then maybe I can relax.

Anyway, lots of last minute plans to make, and get together. I work a full time job in Marketing and Sales, and organizing the time I will take off is a task on its own. This is what I imagined I would be stressing about in the few weeks before leaving, not wedding details!

My fiance is "trying" to help as much as he can, but he just realized the time frame and is freaked out... (He works in slow motion and doesn't believe in lists) LOL poor guy was worried all day he threw out his bow tie, but it was where he left it. I just want to relax and get to Dreams and enjoy  my experience from beginning to end!!! Lets hope that happens for me and every one of you.

Thank you girls, its been a god send to be able to talk to people who know and can understand the situation. I know alot of you are at the beginning of the planning stage... and I don't want to take your excitment away by my anxieties!

I'm sure it will all work out! Everyone have a happy week!

-Dana

Ah glad you blew off some steam - and irish style! I like it! :) we had a great St Patrick's Day here in ireland... crazy as always! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now. I promise you everything will be fine once you get there and you will loooove the resort. I'm totally bummed here - I just spent an hour on www.theknot.com shopping. Picked out things like fans, parasols, tote bags etc and was so happy with my choices and the price until I discovered they dont ship internationally. So okay, I can live with that, i'll get my friend who lives in philadelphia to accept the order and ship to me. got in touch with her (not easy) and she agreed, so I went back on the website to complete the order with her address and then discovered that they dont even accept international credit cards!!! how ridiculous! and she doesnt have a credit card so now i'm back to square one. Goddammit!!!! why does everything have to be so hard??! BangHead.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
