Thank you so much Dana for advice on OOT bags :))) The reason I am so stuck i think is that I never thought I will do them lol (its not something we do in the UK) but after reading and seeing pictures of the brides who did on here, i found it an amazing idea :D I also love your idea of getting little suveniers from local village, its sooo sweet :)) Is the village not far from the resort? its just i never been there before :D

So I will try and work on it this month and I will post anything I will come up here , so you girls can tell me what you think! :))

Hi Ladies, panicking here a bit. My understanding of the free wedding is the same as yours, book 5 rooms and get it free. My last question about whether I have to book them direct with the hotel or not was answered already, but I was a little concerned about whether or not the travel agent would tell the hotel that all of the guests were with my wedding party as I did not book the wedding through them. Amurka and UK brides you might be able to help me out. I am booking through thomson, however I only wanted to book the holiday with them and then book the wedding directly with Tiara (which I have done) but when I called thomson today to make sure they let the hotel know my guests are with our wedding they put me through to their wedding department who are telling me I need to book the wedding through them to get it free. and the problem I have with that is that I cant contact the hotel directly if I do that and have to go through thomson with all of my requests/details etc. I am confortable with Tiara now and want to have full control over the day, but I also want to make sure i dont get lumped with a bill for $900 if I cant prove prior to arrival who my guests are!

after writing this I kinda think i'm worrying for nothing but what do you think?

Sounds like the travel agency is just trying to get you to do everything through them to get a little more commission - you definitely DO NOT have to book the wedding through them to get the free package.  You will have to provide a list to Tiara of your guests names and which of them (probably all of them...) are staying at the resort.  This way Tiara will be able to see that you have booked enough rooms to get the free package and it shouldn't be an issue.  Worst case scenario, you have your guests confirm with the hotel at check in that they are with your wedding party.  No need to panic, but understandable since it is $900!!!

Chanelo - Kelsie is completely right! You don't have to book everything with your travel agent to get your wedding package for free - I asked the same thing Yanna when I first started to consider DLR as our wedding resort and she told me same too! :))) So no worried hun, everything will be alright :)))x ...but i do understand how you feel though..some travel agents i spoke with while trying to sort out our booking were very confusing and some times didn't even know all the details about packages at all...:/ But at the end we went with Caribbean warehouse, they are brilliant so far :D

Hope it helped and you feel at least a bit better about it all :)

Thanks ladies for the compliments on the invitations.  I am excited to see it and will definitely post pics once they are done...I have a question I don't know if anyone has done it but have any of the brides to be here or Mrs. used the ballroom for their reception?  This is what I am doing as I want it inside but I don't think anyone has used it on here.  Any help will be great.  Just want to know how they are and if the ac works and all that good stuff..thanks a bunches!

Hi Chanelo,

I booked the trip with a travel agent and I booked the wedding directly with Tiara. I do not see why you have to go through Thompson. I have multiple guests coming from different places and who did not book with my  travel agent. You just give Tiara the wedding guest names and what flight they will be coming on. I did not have an issue after that. I'm sure you will be fine!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
