Hi there,

you need a day pass for HDC, it was quoted at 65$ for photographer, another 65$ if you get a videographer.

amurka  I live in west yorkshire, where abouts are you hunni?

I just cannot believe there is a charge for the staff to waiter/serve drinks. So even if I have the top package, will I still have to pay for the drinks and the staff?

Is HDC photographers an extra charge or is that included in the package?

I am soo scared about getting there and not having a suitable location for our evening reception aaarrrrrgggghhh

Wow, they like to just charge for anything and everything ha ha ha.

I am seriously considering marrying here in secret and having the ceremony in Dom Rep. Has anyone actually done this? Will it be noticeable to our family?

We don't want it to take the excitement/nerves off the day over there.xxx

MrsEtienne2b,

I am from Chatham in Kent (originaly from North London :)) moved here to be with my fiance, cos it was way to far to travel lol :D

The HDC is outside company and they charge about $650 for their standard photo package, but they definitely worth it!!! :) If you will email them, Arnaud comes back to you almost always the same day with answer, and he will send you all their current package deals.

The only downside is, like Dana mentioned, you will have to arrange a day pass for them with the hotel that cost $65, but again I think with standard of work it is completely worth it :)

When we had the bonfire we did not have to pay for bar service but the reception and the bonfire were like 50 ft away from each other.  Also we only paid for 1 hour but i am pretty sure it was going for almost two.  If you have the bonfire a different night there really is no close by bar, i would think the one by the SSG would be the closest.  I know its easy to get annoyed at all the extra costs but the staff really does a great job!  Side note, when i was looking at other places, Dreams was the cheapest by far.

We are more than certain that we will go with HDC, I already contacted them and their packages seem very reasonably priced and very flexible too! :)

MissTaken,- wau i didn't have a clue that we will have to pay separate bar service for reception and bonfire!!!! huh.gif...I will have to double check with Yanna will it be the same for us, when we are having our reception on the beach (probably right next to bonfire), - cos that wouldn't make any sense at all!!!...

MissTaken, maybe it is worth asking Tiara about location of bonfire and if it is possible to have it any where on the beach then maybe she could arrange it to be closest to one of the bars so you and all your guests will be able to grab some drinks themselves?

As I mentioned earlier, we were very strict about us getting married only ONCE and it would be in DR lol :)...however after finding this thread I realized that loads of US and Canadian brides were doing "secret" legal ceremony at home and then symbolic one in DR, - this got me thinking that maybe we could use money we would spend on all documents for our honeymoon!!!:D

I think Lisa mentioned above that they have done exactly that and if you mention to your wedding coordinator that no one knows that you are already married from ppl attending ceremony in DR - they do their best to go along and pretend that it is all real :D which i personally think is a very nice and sweet touch :)

HI there,

How long did it take the spa to get back to you with hair appointment?

We are getting married on Wednesday and are leaving on Friday, just want to make sure that there is enough time to review and receive all of our photos/video before we leave.

dcairns - I already booked my hair and makeup trial 2 days before the wedding and the day of the wedding with Elke through e-mail, there is another wedding happening on the same day so I wanted to make sure that I get the times that I want booked.

XOXO

Hello ladies,

hope that you all having a wonderful weekend :)

Just have a question for all of the brides - me and my fiance decided to go with free package for our weeding and add all the extras we need to it (as we only going to have about 14 guests). How did you gals go about booking the extras for your wedding? did you ask for a quote from WC? I have inquired about prices of all the things we need from Yanna, she came back to me with everything, but she added next to some things "due the time in advance when you request this information, the prices might change"! We are happy with the price and wouldn't want to be stroked with increase of the price cos our wedding is in a year..!

If you have in advise or you had some experience with it, I would highly appreciate it :)))

xoxo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
