Hi Ladies, Taking a break now, will be meeting everyone for thanksgiving dinner in a few hours. This place is amazing! I am so happy that we chose to come here. I am sure that Nancy will be posting her review before we get home, so you'll here all about it. I got to meet Nancy and her hubby the first night we were here, what a sweetheart. NANCY we heart you guys! Thank you for taking the time to sit and hang out with us, you and your husband are so cool, it was like sitting with old friends. The big day is in a few days. We are excited, and not worried at all. The resort is beautiful and the staff only want to please. Girls I think that none of you will regret your choice. My one thing to you all, get suite, it is like being in an apartment. You will have so much room to spread out and organize. It was the BEST move we made when planning. Yes it is more money, but it is such a spectacular room. We haven't used too many of the preferred club amenities yet, as we have just been walking and hanging out all over the place. But I'm sure the last few days when most of our party has gone home it will be much needed. Hope all of your planning is going well. Will catch up when I get back!

Hi Ladies. You have no idea how happy I am to find this thread! I was in Dreams La Romana in march this year and totally fell in love with the place. My boyfriend proposed two weeks ago and we instantly knew we would get married in DLR! But having contacted Tiara I am finding it impossible to get replies to my questions from her, and it is taking up to 5 - 7 days to get a reply :( so maybe you girls can help me? All I want to know is:

we have about 30 people travelling from Ireland and are looking at the ultimate package. we would like the ceremony at the gazebo and then the reception at the decking area outside seaside grill. Are our guests drinks included in their all inclusive stay or do we have to pay for drinks consumed? I know there is sparkling wine included in the package but what if they are choosing other regular drinks?

is there any additional charge for having a private dinner or is the cost already included in the ultimate package?

thank you in advance! any advice would be much appreciated :)

Hi Chanelo,

Welcome to the thread...there is tonnes of great info here. I was in your shoes not too long ago and now have only about 40 days to go!

You are doing the same as I am, with the ceremony at the gazebo and dinner at the SSG Deck, and I am also doing the Ultimate package. You will be charged a fee of $10 per person for unlimited drinks. I have read elsewhere in this thread that there is a bar nearby that your guests can leave the deck area to go get drinks from though. Having been there yourself you may be able to picture this better than I can? If its nearby you may wish to save the $300 plus service and tip that this would end up costing you.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Sheri!

Oh wow you must be so excited - only 40 days! It doesn't sound like you have you been to DLR before? If not trust me, it is incredible and you will love it there - it really is the perfect spot for a wedding. The bar that you are talking about is pretty much directly across from the deck - about 20 feet away! I don't think our guests would have any issue with fetching their own drinks if that is an option? Unless maybe you have to go with table service drinks? Is there any additional charge for reserving the deck?I read that it is $1000 to rent the SSG but I am hoping that is only for the entire restaurant exclusively.

Thanks again for the reply! :)

Hey girls I got an email from Tiara saying that they started charging a bar service for all weddings - 10USD per person

So then I asked her "Is there a bar near SSG where our guests can get up and get drinks themselves without getting the bar service?" her reply (Tiara D.) There is a bar near the SSG but this is a private event and this are supplements that you have to pay for this.    Sucky eh?

I am not aware of any charges regarding the deck, I hope there are no fees, if any of you girls find out please let me know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
