Hey Rikki,

I know you are probably still recovering from everything.. just a couple of things came to mind.

did you set up the rehersal dinner or did Yanna do it for you? I thought I heard that there was no rehersal? Also did you get your hair done at the spa??

Hey Ladies,

It is super late and I am still up. I put so much work in today, everything is done except for the welcome letter. I wanted to make sure that I got my planning thread up before I left for fear of being to lazy to do it once we got back. Check it out in the planning journal section, see what this uninspired girl accomplished in the last few months, lol. Hope you enjoy!

Your pictures are gorgeous!  Glad to see that the bouquet was included.  Love it!  Did they also do any center pieces for you?

How much was the rehearsal dinner?  I was thinking about having one, but it's still one of those maybe/maybe not things.

Congrats!!!

Sorry i haven't put up a review yet. I've been super busy at work since I got back and am way too tired at night to write anything.

I'll take a few minutes though to answer some questions I've seen so far.

1. My flowers were included in my package. There was a bit of language issues when picking out the bouquets, but I am super pleased with how they turned out. Yanna showed me a folder of a few different examples and asked me what color I wanted my flowers. I told her "colorful and tropical" and she said, "What color? We'll paint them any color you want.". I said "No, don't paint them, whatever you have is fine."  "Blue flowers? You want Blue flowers! Ok, we'll paint them." "No..."

We went back and forth on the painting for a while, but I kept saying "Natural but colorful". I think a few in there were painted, but I couldn't tell even when i closely inspected them. They were beautiful up close.

2. The chair sashes were provided by dreams. I'm not fussy about everything matching, but our general wedding colors were purple and turquoise. She said she had something close to turquoise and they worked out great. She even had them on the chairs for our rehearsal dinner at Oceana, which I thought was really sweet.

We worked with HDC photos and we had to pay for a day pass for the photographer, but a couple of our guests are amateur photographers as well. They had big professional looking cameras and no one said anything to them whatsoever. I'm sure you'll be fine bringing in your own photographer.

We didn't have an actual rehearsal, but my in-laws still wanted to "host" a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. It was kind of moot because we had group dinners every night we were all there, but it was still fun. I had emailed with Yanna previously about possibly doing a private beach dinner, but when we got to the resort we decided we would just eat in one of the restaurants. Yanna said to tell her which one we wanted and that she'd get a table set up for us.

We didn't pay extra for this, and we had to show up right as the restaurant was opening, but it was still really fun. They put the chair sashes on the chairs and had a table runner down the middle. It wasn't a private dinner or anything, but we were in the back of Oceana, not in the middle of the room or anything.

Hey Girls, We are of to DLR tomorrow. Been packing the last few nights, word of advise, start packing 3 days before if you can. Our large suite case was overweight and I had to pack up yet another suite case. Oh well, everything is ready and waiting by the door. I will be meeting Nancy tomorrow, can't wait to hear how her wedding was. Wow can't believe that this is my last post before I go off to get married. Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your planning,.. I hope to come back with lots of pictures and information to share. You all have been very helpful and inspiring to me. Thank you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
