Hey Dana,

Were there any extra charges by the resort because you didnt use the florist the resort offers?

Thanks!

I suggest you ask in point form and ask questions that have a specific answer , such as yes/no.

I have pictures in my album of the bouquets that Tiara sent. I believe in the pdf off the site of Dreams there is a price on the bouquets for you and your bridesmaids. But I may have the extra menu at home, I would have to check.

I ended up going with Real Touch flowers because they ended up being cheaper than their prices.

Hey Dana, You said you got your flowers from a different vendor than the resort offers as they had a better price. Were there any extra charges by the resort because you didnt use their florist?

One of our guests happens to be a great photographer and has offered to take our wedding pictures..but I read that some other resorts try to charge people for bringing their own photographer. Would anyone know if DLR charges extra if we don't use their suggested photographer? Even if they are one of our guests who will be staying at DLR?

Thanks again Ladies!!

i highly doubt their policy has changed, we flew down our photographers and they stay at the resort and had no problems. We didnt have the pay the resort a day pass for them as they were guests there.  I would just let the WC know especially if you have a package that includes their photographers.

Hey Dressa,

I opted in Real Touch flowers for my wedding party, even the throw bouquet.   Reason being I would like to keep it and you wouldn't be able to keep the bouquets because you are not allowed to bring back "plants".  With my package I get a bouquet and boutennier, I will just ask for a centerpiece for the head table instead. So, i'm not bringing them in from another vendor at all. I'm not sure if any other brides have gotten other vendors to deliver to the resort?

As for photographers, I was quoted for a day pass as I have HDC coming. But I highly doubt they would charge you if your sister is taking pictures. If you have the photographers included, i would just have them take photos as well,  or do a session the next day??

Hi ladies,

Sorry i haven't put up a review yet. I've been super busy at work since I got back and am way too tired at night to write anything.

I'll take a few minutes though to answer some questions I've seen so far.

1. My flowers were included in my package. There was a bit of language issues when picking out the bouquets, but I am super pleased with how they turned out. Yanna showed me a folder of a few different examples and asked me what color I wanted my flowers. I told her "colorful and tropical" and she said, "What color? We'll paint them any color you want.". I said "No, don't paint them, whatever you have is fine."  "Blue flowers? You want Blue flowers! Ok, we'll paint them." "No..."

We went back and forth on the painting for a while, but I kept saying "Natural but colorful". I think a few in there were painted, but I couldn't tell even when i closely inspected them. They were beautiful up close.

2. The chair sashes were provided by dreams. I'm not fussy about everything matching, but our general wedding colors were purple and turquoise. She said she had something close to turquoise and they worked out great. She even had them on the chairs for our rehearsal dinner at Oceana, which I thought was really sweet.

We worked with HDC photos and we had to pay for a day pass for the photographer, but a couple of our guests are amateur photographers as well. They had big professional looking cameras and no one said anything to them whatsoever. I'm sure you'll be fine bringing in your own photographer.

Hi Girls, Wow, I can't believe that we will be leaving in just a few days. I am wrapping up some projects that I didn't get to work on while I was sick. Have a few last minute things still left to buy, hope to get that done tomorrow. FI had all of our rings cleaned today, and sadly a few hours ago I found that a small stone was missing from my engagement ring. Luckily it is deep on the side so it isn't visible, but the ring was custom made and the stone is a Fuchsia pink sapphire so it is going to be a pain in the ass to replace. FI is upset about it, but I promised him that I would have it replaced once we get back, I refuse to worry about it now. I am feeling better, but I have a lingering cough, nothing that the DR heat and sunshine won't clear up, lol. Today I had the worst root canal EVER, but I do feel much better, so I am thankful. FI has been very helpful the last few days and I have been getting many excited phone calls and texts, so I am very excited that our time is almost here. I have been taking photos of all my projects the last few months as I have been working, hopefully I will have time to post a planning thread before we leave. I will let you girls know where it is if I do.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
