thanks :), really its rough, i started it with Pastor Rick, then added. I'm subtracting a few of the "god" references as my Fi is an Athiest.  I haven't worked on it for a bit because I still have time.  I wanted to include a passage for people who couldn't be there and have passed away (friends, my grandmother)  I love the handfasting. My greek friend wants to do the crowns for us so i'll integrate it into there too.  Its all subjective, what key elements that we as brides feel need to be expressed. :)

i can't believe your getting married so soon!! i just think when i finally decided on La Romana that the wedding date was so far away! Now its approaching fast! I can't imagine how excited you are!

Thanks Dcairns! i can't believe we leave so soon! It is only 13 days until the wedding. Where did all the time go??

A question for the already brides... How long was your processional music? I'm not having any attendants, but I do want to walk down the aisle to something. Does it take a minute, two minutes, etc. for you to get from where the WC cues the music to the gazebo?

Any suggestions on music from anyone? I'd like something instrumental, but not the "here comes the bride" or "cannon in D". Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Hi ladies, I've been lurking for a while. My wedding is set at DLR for 5/14/11 and I'm starting to get Really REALLY excited. I wondered if anyone had any pictures of the area for the dinner reception on the beach. I could only find a couple from that were pretty dark so I couldn't really tell about the area. We're back and forth for the ceremony between the gazebo & the (what I'm assuming is new) casita on the sand. But we're nearly certain about having cocktails on the pier (the pictures of that look so pretty), and the dinner on the beach. If anyone has pictures of the beach dinner area, I'd love to see!

Thanks ladies!

Hi everybody, long time no message. I check the BDW site as often as possible to try to keep up to speed on whats going on with everybody. Welcome to all the new brides, yay this time is so exciting. I was just checking my wedding ticker...my gosh we leave in 66 days! Yup 66 and so much left to do!

It always seems that right until now, as Ihave a question to ask, someone else asks it and I end up having no need to write it myself. Everybody is so helpful, its fantastic. I'm wondering (and trust me I think I've seen this somewhere and just can't find it) Im wondering if any past brides have the layout of the SSG deck. I want my dinner/reception there and am trying to work out the seating plan. I want to have a sweetheart table and so far thats all I know. I need to have 6 tables but are not even sure if there is still room for a dancefloor, dj, cake table...would any of you have this? if you do could you email me? ((I can't open attachements on BDW).

Thanks in advance for any assistance with this.

Sher

Also a couple other things I have recently learned. One is that once you have a general idea of what you want...you really should email Tiara for a quote. I had been signed up for a package prior to the rate adjustment but because I didn't ask for a "quote" I have to pay the higher rates... she explained that inquiring about prices is not the same as a quote and therefor they wouldnt honor this for me. A little bummed but what can I do? Pass on the tip, hopefully it saves some people from the adjustments.

And on a completely seperate note- I was expressing my concern with sweating, to a friend.I dont sweat much but I also don't wear layers of wedding dress daily, nor do I live in a hot climate. I'm unsure of wether or not this will be an issue. She had gotten married in Mexico and she suggests using a product called Drysol for about a week prior to going to your wedding. It basically stops wetness and odor. I tried the product about two weeks ago, it feels wierd but boy does it work great. Highly recomend it.

Also another product suggestion came from my soon to be mother in law, (has nothing to do with wedding but it does for bathing suits), its called Bikini Zone and it eliminates any redness or bumps from the area after you shave or remove hair in whatever manner you choose to do so in.

Let me know if any of you find this info helpful or not, I might have a couple more suggestions if anybody is even interested in this stuff.   of   of wether or noto

Ok, I have a request for all my DLR forum friends out there! We are scheduled to fly down to the DR on Friday, which of course is the day that Tropical Storm/Hurricane Thomas is scheduled to make landfall in Miami...

Would you please put out positive intentions for my wedding, my guests, and my flights to not be delayed/injured/canceled in any way? The DR has had a rainy year, but of course I get to have the hurricane!

I'm not going to let it get me down, but it does put a damper on my anticipation of a beautiful beach week.

So please, if you have a minute, cast a positive intention out there for the storm to dissipate and for everything to be fine. I would really appreciate the thoughts.

Thanks!

Hermosahoops- sending you positive thoughts from here. Hopefully by Friday it will weaken to a tropical storm and just come up the East coast line. Take it from someone who used to live in Florida, it's almost the end off hurricane season, most likely it will just weaken to a tropical storm before it makes land fall.

Don't worry too much about the weather, you will have a spectacular time no matter what!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
