Bee- thanks so much for answering all of the questions. I didn't see the pictures of the exact vases you were bringing but I think I have an idea. My vases are just plain cylinders about 9 inches tall. There are a lot of people traveling with us so I figure someone will have an empty arm to grab an extra carry on bag.

Wow I can't believe that we are only about 7 weeks away. Now that my shower and bachlorette parties are done, I need to sit down this weekend and create a plan of attack for the remaining things that I need to work on, yippy.

LOL!  i just wanted to know, like Dana, whether that was the cake for 10 people or did you get extra pounds?  If you got extra pounds, how much extra did you get? I'm expecting about 100 people and I don't know how much to order.

OOppss...sorry I missed that question. Umm I dont remember exactly but Im pretty sure I ordered 2 extra pounds of cake. We were 40 people in total and only a few of them had any cake. Not even hubby or I had any cake (except for that little whip cream we tasted for the picture lol) There is so much food and drinks that people are pretty full to have any cake. To be honest, the cake wasnt that good...it was very dry inside.

Taking my vases in people's carry on was not an issue for me eiher as we were 40 people in total and I only had 5 vases; the problem was that the airlines wont let you in the aircraft with glass (unless you put it in checked luggage) as they consider that it can be used as a weapon. They say you can take the risk at the gates, but its pretty much a no. So I decided to take the chance of bringing them in my checked luggage rather than have them taken away. Guess that didnt work out too well lol

But Im thinking that 9 inches isnt so tall...if you wrap them well in bubble wrap and then pack them well amongst all your clothing, im pretty sure they sould be fine. My centerpieces were about 22 inches and had a top and a round base ;(

Thanks for all your replies Bee!

I have one more question. Did you give a ceremony script to Elke, or did you just tweak the standard one a bit? The ceremony I want is nothing like the script Yanna emailed me, and I worry that it will be too much for her. It only takes about 5 minutes to read, but some people sound awful reading out loud if they don't know the passage already.

How did you work this?

Oh, also, do you have any idea how much your dad tipped her? I don't want to be insulting, but I don't want to go way overboard either.

I had my own ceremony script (never even seen the resort one) and it was about 20 minutes long. She did an amazing job! I sent it to her ahead of time. When I met with her, she had it already printed out and she circled certain words she did not understand so she could go over them with me and then she wrote it down the way they were supposed to be pronounced.

I believe my dad tipped her about $60 USD. I would have tipped her more but I also wanted others to be tipped such as Yanna, trio band, waiters at the reception, etc.

I had actually called my airline (Sunwing) and when I spoke to the lady there, she said that having the glass vases in carry-ons would be ok with the airline and security. Then my father-in-law freaked me out when he said that she must have been wrong as glass can be used as a potential weapon. So I called the airline AGAIN and this time I was told that I could not have glass in my carry on as they could be used as weapons lol....

So I guess make sure your TA double/triple checks with Jetblue; maybe you can also call yourself as well just to be safe. Good luck :)

Hi Ladies...quick question....

I tried to post my wedding review under the "Wedding Review" section and this is the message written on that forum:

This Wedding Review section is closed to new Reviews.  Please use the new review sections to post your reviews.

Does anybody know where this 'new review section' is located so that I can post my review as well???

I was told to look at the FAQ part of the website but I read it and Im still confused..

Any help would be much appreciated!!

xoxo Bee

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
