Hey Girls,

Hope everyones planning is going well. Just wanted to stop in and share. My bridal shower and bachloret party are this weekend. On the same day actualy, it's a little nuts, but everyone was going to be in town for the shower,, so we decided to do a twofer. I will post some pics next week, hopefully the weather gets nice as it's been rainy in NY for the last 2 days.

Hi Uninspired! Have fun at your shower and bachelorette party!

MissTaken, your dress is gigantic! I love that it is the exact opposite of the normal "Beach Wedding" dresses. It will look fantastic in your photos. Is it heavy or are the layers pretty light?

This is my dress. I tried on far too many without finding anything and ended up having my mom buy this off her local craigslist. It arrived, fit perfectly, and I can't be happier. :) The train is a lot longer then anything I thought I would want, but it has a lovely french bustle so after the ceremony you won't even be able to tell it is there.

Andressa,

Thats a great idea about the florist. I'm getting married on the 11th and leaving on the 13th. My colors are basically Aqua, but i'm looking for white paper lanterns as well. If you wish, I could just leave all my lanterns behind for you (in a box with Tiara) and if you want the white ones then they are yours wink.gif I haven't bought them all yet... But will keep you posted !!!

My dress is bought and away at my moh's stored away, I GOT IT REALLY EARLY, it came in weeks in advance.

This picture hardly shows the beadwork and also the train in the back. MissTaken and Hermahoops! Lovely dresses!  I love them both!  And Uninspired, HAVE FUN!  Really when are we truly ever going to feel this again. You are the princess, prom queen and center of the wedding universe all at once. You have your loved ones all surrounding you so enjoy every moment. And yes we would love to see pictures :)

Thank you ladies :)  I know the dress is a bit much for a destination wedding but hey it is going to be my only wedding (I hope) so why not be a princess for a day LOL ...

I'm still wondering if I made the right decision but its too late now since I already bought it.  The dress is not that heavy from what I remember, it just has ALOT of layers.

My only concern is how I am going to bring it down with me ... I think I might have to ship it huh.gif

Beautiful dresses dcairns and hermosahoops!!!!!!!

uinspired1979 have a blast at your parties!

Aparently if you call your airline then they will put it in the first class closet. Have you received it yet? Does it take alot of room?? They have steam service and everything.

love your dress!  i'm way to short to ever put that off sadly.

I would def not ship it, what if it gets stuck in customs or they lose it. i have also heard of ppl putting it in their checked suit case and it getting lost or stolen out of the suit case.  the first class closets are not big enough though,  my dress was not big at all and barely fit so i took up a whole overhead bin for it, at least what i saw on the 4 planes when we went to DLR and Mexico (brought my dress down for the honeymoon as well as got some amazing pics from La Luna!)

dcairns - the dress should arrive mid December and then I still have to get alterations done so I probably won't get it till March.

My TA said that the plane that we are flying with is small so I'm not sure if they would even have room for my dress on the plane, I will definitely call the airline closer to the date!

dolfinluck - Great photos, looks like you guys had an amazing time once again wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
