Hey there hustyg,

I had the same issue about the ceremony, but they offered me three o'clock instead of 5 and I took it. They warned me it may be a little warm but I feel better because I have time for pictures. In the end I decided to have a cocktail hour and I made it at 4:30 so that by six we would head over to the SSG where my reception is. This will hopefully let the whole ceremony to reception flow easily. I too was worried about the decor and such, at least its the bride after me that has to worry about it now..

As for HDC, I have the pricing at home (at work just checking in) but I can't remember what email address it IS in (i have about 5 with work!) and can email it to you if you wish.  Or i'll post it later.. been a crazy week. My email is tiggerdc@hotmail.com if you want to send me a gentle reminder!!

Also....what times has everyone got their ceremony??? Yanna has e-mailed me and said we are confirmed for 5.30 in the gazebo because they have another wedding beforehand at 4- but I am stressing because the sun will set at 6:45, and if we are delayed in starting because they have to re-decorate etc etc etc then we will have no time left to take photo's in the light...has anyone else had their ceremony at this time?!?! or do you know if we can ask for the ceremony to take place before the 4 o'clock one??

Thank you!!!

x

Thanks for the replies on the chairs and sashes, ladies! I will probably just choose the ones the resorts have since I don't have colors for my wedding. No bridesmaids makes it easy to do without colors. :)

hustyg, you should be fine moving your time around. You still have 7 months until your wedding so I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you moved forward to 3pm or something. I think it is going to be hot regardless so it doesn't really matter what time the ceremony is if you are concerned about getting pictures while it is light.

Hi Pink Petals,

i was actually referring to Dreams Los Cabos as this was my first choice for the wedding. Sorry for the confusion.

You can check out hundreds of pictures of the resort on tripadvisor or on oyster.com....even on facebook!

Soory about the confusion - I was talking about Dreams Los Cabos. i had picked it because it is a golf and soa resort but once I read the fine print it said you cant swim in the ocean. You certainly can at La Romana

Akkelly, is this at Dreams La Romana? I have seen pictures of people swimming in the ocean, so I'm not quite sure what you are talking about.

Is anyone bringing down their own tulle for the gazebo? I am worried that their teal isnt going to match my teal...I know minor. I am less than 30 days away and starting to panic a little. Sept brides...what time is your wedding? I scheduled mine for 5 and am a little concerned about sunset....tiara said the sun sets around 5:45 this time. Is that what you were told?

Btw...my last post was regarding chair sashes....lol. I guess I didnt realize it would kick my comment to the back...

Hellooo...

Thanks for the reply, have e-mailed Yanna again after she replied saying we could have 5 o'clock instead...so have asked her if we can go before the other wedding instead...i will cope with the heat if it means we can have more time for piccies :)!! we are also having the cocktail hour (included in the package) and that sounds like it will work out really well timing wise.

Yanna has suggested the gardens near to the gazebo for the cocktail party - where are you going for? and either the beach or SSG for the dinner...havent quite made our minds up yet. (e-mails from Yanna have been much for informative and accurate since your suggested format so thanks for that!!!)

GEM.....your pics on facebook are so beautiful, thank you for the add, you looked great and so so happy - congratulations. How did it work out having the meal on the beach? am thinking of booking the bonfire after seeing your pics (maybe without the bottle of gasoline next to it haha) did you book the ultimate package?

Thanks ladies

As far I know, the cocktail hour is on the pier, but not sure that I confirmed that lol, considering I micro manage everything that comes to a shock. (i will have to confirm).  I've rented out the SSG, Originally I wanted to do the beach, but my mother suffered from a stroke last year and she can't walk in beach areas. I didn't want to bring attention to it either. Also I wanted air conditioning, so the whole SSG is mine that evening. If I had to choose another area outside it would have been the SSG outside, its really beautiful. But again, i didn't even consider the beach because of my mom, and she will be there partying all night!

GEM yes, i'm not sure I said thank you for sharing, I got really excited again by the whole thing!.   I'm actually considering that maybe on another evening before the wedding I will have the bonfire for my guests as something different.  It looked like you had a blast.

As for writing to the WP, I find that yes or no answers are the best as I think they are really busy and need to zoom through emails. I'm glad that format helped!!!!

On another note, just heard my dress is in from David's Bridal.  A little in shock because they said 12 weeks, and its only taken 3, wow... so next week i pick it up!!!! CRAZY.

ALSO, i've been wracking my brain for centerpieces that I could bring with me. I put this one together (i'd have to bring it down in pieces) We plan to get submersible lights to light up the bottom in the water.

But comments please .. IMG_0565.jpg

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
