Ireyes, the heat actually wasn't that bad. It was hotter here in the states than there when we were there. The mosquitos were pretty bad, though. We all had bites from them. I think they are unavoidable wherever you go. Just cover yourself in bugspray before you go out and bring some concealer for coverups.

Thanks dolfinluck! :)

hustg...about the resort photographers. I think they were pretty good. We hired HDC but in our package was included 50 pics from the resort that they took during the ceremony. They came out really nice. Something they did that was amazing and beyond what we expected was the video. It came in our package and covered the ceremony and a little bit after and is just so beautiful!

hermosahoops, thanks:) It would definitely be worth it to stay for the extra 4 days not only because the resort is great but then you don't have to worry about packing everything up and spending time going somewhere else when you could be at the bar or wherever...=)

Hi, uninspired. I am glad you are starting to destress:) Its really funny that this is supposed to be such a happy time in our lives but sometimes we lose sight of that because of all of the stress and the drama. I know it is hard to forget all that but please try. This is a fun time- this is your time! And no one else's......good luck:)

Hey Girls,

I keep meaning to post this and keep forgetting; Awhile back someone posted on tripadvisor.com that they took chocolate down to DLR and were tipping with it. Though I don't condone this one bit I did figure out the reason they did it (I hope, otherwise they were just horrible cheap asses).

Though the DR is a cocoa producing country, much of there cocoa is exported. Why I know this is because I saw these expensive chocolate bars from DR cocoa beans, so I was trying to research where to buy Dominican chocolate so that I could put it in my OOT bags. So there doesn't seem to be much chocolate to purchase in the DR, only a few brands in the local super markets, and the expensive stuff for the tourists.

Though I don't plan on tipping with it, I'm thinking about taking some nice boxes of chocolates down with us to give to the WP, bartender, and DJ, and whoever else we click with down there.

This is something that is so random, just thought I would share this with you all.

Gaby.... Thanks so much for the amazing review!!!! The pictures are absolutely gorgeous! Yaay to HDC!

I'm leaving in less than 3 weeks ... I still have a few things to do before so of course I'm freaking out a little!!! As you already know I'm a little messed up in the head... I'm carrying everything down w/ me; table linens, centerpieces, candle holders, etc.

I just want everything to be perfect... I know I'm supposed to relax... I'm trying :) but my hubby didn't even buy his suit yet lol I feel like strangling him!!!

Yanna gave me a direct e-mail to the photographer that is provided in the Ultimate Package. If you want to check out their work, http://www.tropicalpictures.com.do

My cousin was at the resort with his family this past winter and he came back with some beautiful pictures which these photogs took of his daughters, so I'm confident that they are really experienced. They have some beautiful photos on their website also.

Somewhere I have their price list too, if you want it e-mail me at [email protected]

I already got married back in May at DLR, if you want to see my pro pics or my review they are in my siggy below.

I put a pic of the cake in my review, so click below.  We got chocolate cake and it was very good, very moist.  We brought the rest back to our room and ate pieces of it during the rest of our stay.  We didnt eat a lot of it during the wedding cause there was just too much yummy food at the dinner.  Glad we didnt do the cocktail hour cause ppl would of eaten even less of their food at the reception.

I'm trying to decide whether to get the folding chairs or the Tiffany Chairs.  I'm trying to decide whether getting the Tiffany chairs is worth the extra $7/chair.

I got the white folding chairs for the reception and ceremony.  I believe they were $7 or $8 a piece.  I think the Tiffany chairs were $15.  For me upgrading the chairs was worth is as it gave the space a different look (compared to the free chairs) and I was still able to use the chair sashes i wanted.  I thought the Tiffany chair would of looked too out of place with the rest of my decor, like too fancy for me at least.  If i would of had a lot of ppl come i might of rethought renting the chairs as that could of really added up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
