Questions for those who are already married....

1. I went to Sams yesterday to look at the Bose i-pod docking system and I turned it up as loud as it would go and I have some concerns about the sound carrying through the reception area at the Sunset Grill.  Have any of you ladies used this option? Was it loud enough? What did you do?

2. Was the cake good? I've seen the pictures of the cake they provide and they don't look very pretty, but how do they taste?

congratulations, where are your wedding pictures> How was the heat and the mosquitos? I heard the heat is unbearable this time of year? I am trying to decide between jamaica grand palladium and dreams la romana in the dominican. I really like everything about this resort I am just worried about the heat and mosquitos

We used the bose ipod dock and it worked great on the beach, and it was loud enough

quick question as we are both having the ultimate package - do you have any info on the photographers available?? I e-mailed Yanna about them, asking how many photographers we could choose from and if she could send some samples of their work and when we could make arrangements with them...the reply I got was: "they are a few photographers, but they do very good job" - i thought it might be a safer bet to ask for advice on here!!

Thank You!!!

p.s your last post was great...reminded me of the important things to remember...I am much less stressed now cheesy.gif

I believe they are call "photo souvenir", they have booth at the resort.  They are the ppl that take your picture during the day with all the different animals.  The have a couple of photographer, but i'm not sure you could request one over another.  I think a couple of brides have used them and said they were pretty good.  When they took my picture with a couple of different animals they were pretty good at posing me and giving me direction.  Pics were the most important thing to me so to be safe i flew someone down and dont have a single regret about spending a bit more money for them.

Also Uninspired, great post!!! its so easy to loose sight of what really is important

Dolfinluck,

Yanna gave me a direct e-mail to the photographer that is provided in the Ultimate Package. If you want to check out their work, http://www.tropicalpictures.com.do

My cousin was at the resort with his family this past winter and he came back with some beautiful pictures which these photogs took of his daughters, so I'm confident that they are really experienced. They have some beautiful photos on their website also.

Somewhere I have their price list too, if you want it e-mail me at allakarasik@hotmail.com

Congratulations Gaby! It is good to see the reminder to calm down and let the WCs do their job. Great advice! They do this every day, so I'm sure my wedding will be no problem for them.

Thanks for putting up the review. I'm glad everything worked out well. We've been trying to decide if we want to stay at the resort after our wedding for our last 4 days, or go somewhere else, and your review is tipping the scales in favor of staying at Dreams.

Hi, girls! Thanks for all the sweet comments! And today we just got our wedding book from HDC and its beautiful!

dcarnis, lol :) I added you on fb:)

Thanks, NancM. My bouquet, my hubby's boutinere, the Best Man's boutinere, and I think my grandpa is wearing one and my mom in law- they were all real and included in our package with the resort. The girls' bouquets as well as the other groomsmen's boutinere's were fake. I bought them in a flower warehouse in jersey. After the ceremony, we actually used the BM's bouquets as the centerpieces. We got some fancy glasses from the bar, put some blue stones that I brought in them, and stuck the flowers right in them and they worked out nicely:)

Mrs. Williams and irisheyes, I added you:)

In my opinion, and my hubby's and our guests that tried the cake, it was delicious!!! We weren't too picky how it looked as long as our cake topper was on top. They actually serve the same cake in the buffet as dessert and whenever we could, we would go and get some during the week because it was so yummy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
