Sorry Nadia, i forgot to answer your question about the chairs at my wedding. Yes they were the free ones, I brought the sashes and real touch flowers with me to decorate them. I was really happy with them.

Irisheyes, thank you it was a fantastic day but so hard to believe 10 months of worrying, planning and research was over so quickly!! My flowers were from The floral touch uk http://www.thefloraltouchuk.com/ the girl Joanne is lovely and she took photos of them for my approval before posting them to me, I paid £165.97 for my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets 3 buttonholes for the men and the 2 hair clips for the girls. They are real touch flowers made of lycra, and they were so real looking. I got a fresh flowers centerpiece for the table instead of the bouquet and buttonhole that is included in the free package, and although the florist did their best to match the flowers to mine but they were nowhere near as nice and they wilted in no time in the heat.

As for the beach being windy, you will not have that problem, the only thing to worry about is heat and humidity. As us Irish aren't used to the humidity, we found it to be very sticky and uncomfortable eating outside, so we changed ours to the air conditioned french restaurant. I was delighted with the way they decorated it and the service at no extra cost.

Bianca and Dana There is a bar just at the SSG so it wouldn't be a great inconvenience to get up and get drinks from the bar

I don't know how to figure this out. I think when i get there I will duke it out.

N Simpson, if Pink Petals got it, you should as well. You booked last year for goodness sakes, and I booked before that date. I'm sure it will all work out, and i'll mention the SSG Bar outside. Thanks everyone

I wanted to have a private cocktail hour after my ceremony so I've been emailing with Yanna for a while trying to get some sort of a straight answer out of her. She kept sending me the Hors'd ouvres menu so I assumed the $8 per person covered the drinks as well.

Today she emailed me this:

About the cocktail hour Silver :

US$8.00+26% P/P - Hors d’ oeuvres

US$10.00+26% p/P- Open bar  (private / in the same area)

Please choose the options for the silver hors’d oeuvres list attached,

Am I confused to think that this is part of the new pricing policy? Did the silver hors'd ourvres menu used to cover drinks? Unfortunately I can't find anywhere in my email that she said this, but that was the impression I had anyway...

Thanks

Hi Pink_Petals,

I know that, for HDC, we did ask Arnaud about the use of Paypal for the remainder of our bill and because they have internet service in the Preferred Club area (and maybe elsewhere, I'm not sure), that's how we'll be paying for that.  As for the SSG and any other "extras", I believe it will be done via Credit Card, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

As for the cost of the SSG, I have yet to receive confirmation from Yanna about that, just that she did explain that we will be choosing items from the SSG menu prior to the reception.  I emailed her earlier today, so we will await her response, but I was sure to include Tiara's email indicating the cost back in April when we had discussed this with her.  Hoping that they too will honour that pricing.  Keeping my fingers crossed...I'll let you know what they come back with.

Dana,

Thank you for posting the interior shot of the SSG...the more I think about the weather there, the more I like the idea of eating indoors for the reception!  At least we know that it's a viable option and hopefully we could still have the dancing out on the deck.  Thanks again...

Nadia,

With you having booked so far in advance, there should be NO way they can charge you that newly added cost for bar service.  It would be highly unfair.  Best of luck...

Nancy

I just got this from Yanna:

8.00+26% P/P - Hors d’ oeuvres AND US$10.00+26% Open Bar (Drinks)

Sorry, but the private services are an extra service, and each one should be paying separate.

I don't have the previous quote in writing anywhere, so it looks like I'm just going to be having the cocktails and not the food since $20 a head is too rich for my budget. sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
