My new hubby and I got back yesterday after a fabulous 2 week stay at Dreams. I will post our review as soon as I can...still trying to catch up and unpack. All I can say is WOW. Everything was just amazing. Our whole crew had an amazing time and our week alone was great, too. We had both the ceremony and reception on the beach and they were both breathtaking. It really turned out better than we could have ever imagined it. Tiara was great and everything fell into place. I was a more relaxed bride- and just trusted her and everything was amazing. Everything from my hair and makeup to the photographer to the DJ to the pastor to the dinner to the set up. You girls really have nothing to worry about. We were so lucky because we had plenty of sunshine on our day and again, it was just amazing. And we are finally Husband and Wife!!!!!!!!

Hey Gaby welcome back!!!

So happy to know that everything went just as you wanted :)

I totally agree, Tiara is great...and knowing that she did her wedding there not too long ago really helps her to know all that you're going through as well I think.

I'm really looking forward to your reply but make sure you get unpacked first!!! :)

Hi there! I just recieved confirmation for my wedding at Dreams La Romana for Sept 17 2010. So right around the corner! I am nervous because Tiara has been taking forever to get back to me...even the confirmation took 3 weeks.

This forum has been super helpful so far! I am hoping that everything can take care of itself when I get there. Has anyone had the gazebo decorated by the staff? My dress is ivory, and I am afraid the white drapery will make me look dingy. Also, has anyone inquired about a horse and carriage? I know they do this at some palace hotels, but we couldnt go there because of restrictions...

Hi there Telly,

I'm fairly new to the forum, but have gotton alot of relief from finding it. I'm only getting married in April 2011. I know that waiting on Tiara to write back can be stressfull, but honestly, what i do suggest is that you possibly call her if you are really in need of an answer. Also from advice i got on here, if you write Urgent in the subject line of the email she gets to you faster. So don't worry! :)

Thanks for the reasurrance! I think I've read through the last 100 pages! The time is just creeping up so fast, especially since we had to switch the wedding site from Carmen del Playa to the DR (which we found out about last month!)

I already booked HDC for the photography.

Did anyone bring their own tulle for the gazebo? I saw gazebo decor starts at $350..but I don't want white, since my dress is ivory.

Hi Telly,
Welcome to the forum and congrats on joining the DLR entourage LOL!!

Regarding the horse and carriage, I don't believe that DLR offers that option but it can't hurt to ask!

I'm curious, what restrictions prevented you from going to the palace? sad.gif
I'm of the opinion that things always work out in the end so I'm sure you'll be super happy that you chose DLR as your runner up welcome4.gif

I was looking around and saw that they had horses on the beach...oh maybe I'll use that for my trash the dress instead!

As far as the restriction goes...the FI is military and they're being picky about where we can and can't go. Mexico as a country was out sad.gif But DR is gonna be fantastic!

Welcome Telly! I hear you on the military, BIL is active and we also switched locations from Playa del Carmen to DLR, luckily we still had a little over a year but in the end everything worked out better and was actually quite a bit cheaper, so much so that we had extra money to take an official honeymoon to Playa del Carmen (we leave tonight pinkie.gif!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
