Just wondering, for any of you that had or are having a symbolic ceremony, how many days before the ceremony did Tiara want you to arrive. I think we'll be arriving on a sunday for a wednesday wedding. I'm assuming that this is plenty of time??

We arrive on a Tuesday and we're having the wedding on Friday so you should be fine. Just double-check with Tiara tho.

Hi, girls!! Thank you so much everyone for the well wishes!! It has been 10 amazing and crazy years and I am so ready to become Mrs. Michalik!! =)

Thanks, nsimpson. We did order the mugs and I am still thinking about the t-shirts- but making them myself. My fiance has a very creative cousin who actually made our passport invites thru photoshop so we'll see. Oh, and I was also going to make little survival kits and put personalized little travel items in them....but Eric's fam is 100% Polish and their main survival item is vodka so I might just get everyone some vodka nips for the plane! lol:)

Thanks, dolfinluck. The towels sound like a great idea! I love giving them something that they will use in the future.

Thanks, Pink:) Happy 10 years to you guys, too!! Where does the time go, right?! Our civil was nice. We mainly did it with my fam and E's mom because my fam isn't going to DR- so at least they were able to participate in something. It was nice, tho. We made up with my one bro and hung out at the bar at the restaurant we went to so that was cool:)

OMG, LJ!!!!! yeah we leave 2 weeks from tomorrow!!! I cannot believe its almost here!! My fiance's grandparents arrived from Poland on thursday- so it is really starting to hit me!! Can't wait to meet up!!!

I gotta go girls....I still have some last minute things to do....lol. But, I have decided it is what it is and it will be great!!!

xoxoxo

Wow, There ae a few ladies who's weddings are just around the corner. That's so exciting. Enjoy every minute.

Last weekend I got a little nervous because a co-worker mentioned the DR may be unstable due to being near Haiti. That freaked me out a little and I searched and explored other locations all weekend. In the end nothing compared to DLR in my mind and it helped us decide for sure that that is where we want to get married.

This weekend I am working on budget. It's a little scary. I am frugal and want to not go overboard. Some of it depends on how many guests we have. I'm going to create budgets for all options.

We are also trying to decide between April 2011 or May 2011. Is the weather in May a lot more risky? The price point seams to be much better.

Hey Cherry Coke!

Good luck with the budget... I know I've had to adjust mine several times since I started planning!

As for the weather in April vs May, it's virtually the same with May being slightly warmer with the chance of a few more rain days.

OMG Gem thats brilliant about your brother, I am really pleased for you, It must have been the week for it, my mum came to see me, she's still not going but it was good to see her and get a hug :0)

Thanks girls for all the good wishes, 8 days to go!!!!!

For any of the girls worrying about not getting replies from Tiara and Yanna, we know its because they are soooo busy, but just to reassure you that once your wedding gets close they answer you immediately and sometimes they both answer you lol

Petals no prob I was exactly the same, if you think of anything else let me know :0)

I'm no expert in weather down there but as far as the April vs May, i would think april is the safer pick but the prices in may are so much better. I think if you go earlier in the month of may you might be better off then later. But really in the end its completely out of your hands. I would keep checking the weather all the time before I left but got to a point that I cant do nothing about it. Plus the forecast would change all the time and would drive me crazy!

I was at the DRL for the first 2 weeks in May and we got married May 7. The weather was fantastic! Over the 2 weeks it rained for 3 consecutive days (in the beginning of the 2nd week) but the rain lasted 1 hour, max. The rain was a nice break from the heat and when it wasn't down-pouring we just stayed in the pool ... we were wet anyway and it was still warm :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
