I thought i was going to wait till i got down there to finalize the reception as Tiara keeps changing her responses and think it would be easier to go back and forth in person but I think i have finally figured things out.

Bridget:

OMG - first of all your photog is AMAZING! She did a great job of eliminating the videographers negative impact on your pics. I too will second that when I saw the set up of the resort photog/video people I was not impressed --this is what really sealed the deal for HDC to do both for me.

I'm wondering if now that they've brought in an additional wedding planner that maybe she's just there to take over from Tiara altogether!? I'm sure that you're not the frist bride to complain about Tiara's behaviour (in fact, I remember reading a VERY negative review about Tiara on trip advisor!!)

Bridget I would like to know:

1 -- where you did your dancing (since your tables were set up on the deck) did you use the concrete landing that faces the gazebo?

2 -- Where exactly did you have the Dj set up? And what kind of music did he play?

3 -- Why you chose the pier for your cocktail site as opposed to having everything by the gazeebo?

Thanks so much, and I'm glad that your day was still a huge success, beautiful and memorable. :)

Nadia

thanx bridget for the review. it is very helpful. i am less worried about tiara's organisational skill as i am planning on having only 20- 30 guests at my wedding though now that i know the music has to stop at 23:00, it made me think twice about hiring a dj (for around an hour's dancing.. btw, did you hire a dance floor?).. i have the same question as the brbr.bo, i am wondering if anyone knows another dj other than the resort and dj mania?

Wow, I think everyone is in a panic now. I am leaving in 17 days, but I am having a fairly simple wedding. Especially after hearing all the extras Bridget had.

I am having a small ceremony on the beach, with the natural arch. Having the dinner/reception at the SSG. Bringing my ipod dock with our own music. My biggest request was to have a sundae bar instead of the dessert.

I am even bringing my own photographer.

I am planning on having a great vacation in the sun and a small classy beach wedding with very little stress : )

Best wishes to everyone and your planning.

Thanks Bridget! That was very helpful.

For the April/May brides, I am getting married on 26 of april and I received the form from Tiara on friday the 9th. I also checked the tickets and the hotel does not appear to have available rooms before april 25. My TA checked it out and said that only waitlist is available. I would suggest booking the rooms that are left after 25th, since they are giving great deals now. Last time I looked on resorts page, they were not charging for kids if you book in May :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
