I went to Demetrio's inside Macy's in Tyson's Corner and to ROB in Rockville. I seen a dress in Demetrio's but I wanted to look some more I love options, LOL! I want something simple, that's not big, not ball gown like, not hot or too beaded, no train. I looked in alot of magazines and online and the only

dresses I liked were Demetrio's, Maggie Sottero, and I seen a few from Nordstron but they may be too simple. JCrew has some nice dresses but they don't seem worth the prices. I love, love, love BCBG so if I find a dress there it's good as sold. So I'm still looking for now hopefully I will make up my mind by September. I'm kinda worried if I buy it too soon I will not like it later or want to change to another dress I saw, cause I do that sometimes. I may need to just have 2 and then see what I feel like that day, sad but true.

I have an appt for a Bridal Salon in Capitol Hill on the 25th.

The only local shop in the area that I went to was the Bridal Boutique in Columbia, but I also went to RK Bridal in NYC and a few salons in Syracuse where I went to school. I actually ended purchasing my dress from one of the boutiques in Syracuse for a fantastic price!!!

This would be fun!! I would love to come, but I don't move back from school until Aug. 10th. Initially I thought of a happy hour, but since we are a little spread out it may be best to have something on a weekend.

I went to The Bridal Boutique in Columbia today .. I have been meaning to get out there but have always ended up going somewhere else ..

I walked in w/o an appt and was able to try on gowns and found the one I want ........I liked how they had the dresses grouped by the style (mermaid, etc ..) ..I knew where to start and didnt have to wrestle through those heavy dresses .. they dont have a large warehouse selection ..maybe 10-12 gowns in each style .. we were actually sharing a couple of the dresses but it was cool..it was nice to see how the dress looked on somebody else .. they do have a large selection of BM

Overall, I was impressed .. the prices were reasonable ..alot of $699-1000... some $1100 + but they were really nice ..

They had a Maggie Sottero gown for $718

It was soooooooo pretty in the diamond white ..and it was hard for me to choose over Maggie lol but I left it for somebody else..

also they have 10% off orderable dresses and 20% off in-stock dresses ..worth a ride

I visited Hitched, Rizik's, Terri Lynn Bridal, and Hannelore's. Ultimately, I bought my dress at Hannelore's and had a great experience. PM me if you want my consultant's name there - she was great. I know it's gotten some poor reviews on Yelp, but perhaps that had to do with person the bridal was working with during the visit.

Columbia Bridal Boutique is the best. It was so easy to go right in and go to the destination wedding gowns. I work with Julie and she's great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. She knows women's bodies and knows what will look good on you but still lets you try things on (esp if your family is pushing for something you're so not interested in lol). Plus I thought their prices were great. my gown is a Mori Lee that was 789 but bc of a couple Julie snuck me I got it for 689. I also received coupons for my bm's dresses but we ended up getting their gowns from David's. I work with Jeff there. He's all over the place hence the reason I didn't buy for myself there, but he suffices for my girls they could care less ab how much help they receive. As you can see, I'm very big on customer service.

I never get updates from this thread, that's weird. Sorry im just responding. We can meet later this summer is you like. I currently live by Potomac Mills, used to live in Owings Mills / New Town area and finally settling in with FI in bmore county when I rent my home. So long story short I am all over the place and willing to meet jsut about anywhere in the area. I saw this gorgeous alfred dress that I think im sold on. I am not sure whether I want to buy it used or new.

How bout the mall? end of summer?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
