Ha ha, yes, it is a real parrot!  My FI and I went to Mexico back in February (Dreams Tulum) and the resort photographers brought different animals around every day.  We bought quite a few of their pictures.  They turned out great!  We have one with a tucan and then there were two of these parrots there.  I had a co-workers photoshop this one for me.  :o)

Speaking of, I need to learn how to do that so I can play with my wedding photos!

We are still awaiting our confirmation but we are looking at May 2nd at Azul Sensatori in the Riviera Maya.

I haven't done a whole lot yet.  Most of my time has been focused on finding the resort.  Now I'm trying to determine my color scheme, invitations, bridesmaid dresses, etc.

For the dress, I've pretty much exhausted all my options at the reasonable retailer, Davids Bridal.  So, I am going to the Running of the Brides tomorrow and I am hoping with all of my might that I find THE dress (and wouldn't it be fantastic if it was at the $250 pricepoint!)  Whoo hoo!!

What about you?

Thats great! I love how that parrot just sits there, too cute!

I havent even walked into a bridal shop yet lol, and I really dont think Im ready to at this point, Im hoping to go sometime in Sept or October. Ive sent out my STDs and Im working on my invites now, Ive already booked our photographer.  I would love to start shopping for BM and GM attire but who we have asked they arent sure if they will be able to make it, so it looks like that will probably be a last minute thing.  And beaches takes care of all of the decorations so i dont have to worry about any of that (phew) and Im glad because it already feels stressful enough as it is, so thats one less thing I have to worry about.  So where exactly is this running of the brides, and what is it? I just imagine a bunch of girls fighting over dresses ha!

It's in DC tomorrow morning.  Yeah, it seems like it's going to be quite chaotic and stressful, but hopefully fun as well - not too many BRIDEZILLAS!  smile105.gif Ha ha

Apparently, all the dresses are ripped off the racks within like 10 minutes and then it's bargaining from there to try and get a dress in your size.  I'm trying to think positive!  I really hope to find something I love.  I'm a bit of a frugal bride since we are paying for everything ourselves.  I have worked two jobs for the last four years to get out of debt and I'm really not trying to go back in that hole!  So, a dress for a bargain is right up my alley! :o)

They say that if you go later, after all the chaos, your chances of finding a gown are still good.  Maybe you should go check it out!

Sounds Crazy! How long does this go on for, is it just on friday? Have you looked online, bc Ive seen some really great dresses online for like 4 and under, some arent considered bridal gowns, but they sure do pass for one.  Not sure what style your looking for but this is one I saw and like and its really pretty and its $358.00 but they have cheaper ones as well, its simplydresses.com

Hmm, very pretty.  I'll have to check it out.  I do have some options at David's Bridal.  I just had this idea of the beautiful designer ones but even when I try those on, I don't melt.  Maybe I'm just too picky.

The ROTB was not the best experience, very long, hectic day with poor results.  But, I have plenty of time!

Going shopping with my daughter now!  TTYS

Any ideas?

Nobody at all from you family is going? Is it just you and your FI, if so I would say go for the AHR, this way you can show everyone your pictures, and tell them all about it!  No ideas on where to do it though, Im not realy familiar with any sites in VA, I live in Southern Maryland and everything around here is fairly affordable.  Do any of your family memebers, have a huge backyard that you could maybe use for the reception, that would definetly save you a lot of money.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
