Just a thought maybe we could have the guys money go into a separate pot and the guys competing w/ each other.

Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer either, but I didn't even know they could join or that it was discussed and its really a downer for me. Joe could lose the weight I'm trying to in just a couple weeks. Now i know its based on percentage, but Joe could easily drop in no time flat w/ hardly trying while i'm working my ass off

I'm curious to hear what you other girls think
I was a bit worried no one else would understand me :) A separate pot would be good however WAY smaller than ours. It would be nice to see what others think.

Hey guys, thanks for voicing your concerns. There are mostly women here but it was never said that men were excluded. I've never watched the BL show, how do they deal with this issue?

I am sort of bummed that it is such a downer because I thought we are doing this to get ourselves active and healthy. All but one of us are going to lose out on the money anyway, whether to a woman or man, kwim? There are a lot of variables that could give someone an advantage (like having personal trainer or attending boot camp for example) so I looked at the prize as a possible reward but for me it is about doing my best and being accountable to someone.

Having that said, my husband is one of the men who joined and he said if it ends up causing drama he will play along for free, no worries. I'm here to lose weight regardless of if he is in or not :)

BTW I googled it and the first thing that came up was this article:

Why Men Lose Faster than Women

Hey Ladies I'll put my 2 cents in ab the men. I think that we are ultimately in BL6 to lose weight and become healthier, not to get $. The $ is just a motivational tool. Now I clearly understand how unmotivating it is to have guys who can lose weight faster than women possibly getting the $. But to be honest would a guy (or gal for that matter) who had no problem losing weight really join BL6. I guess they could but what would be the point? I think it'll be unfair for any person to join just bc they knew they'd have no prob losing the weight (and win the pot), when some of you all are working your butts off to win this thing. So Lastly, if we want that $ than we have to fight harder for it and pray that it pays off. I personally have no prob with the guys joining.

Of course we are in this to loose weight and get healthier. The "gold" at the end of the rainbow is definitely a motivator. I read the article that was posted however I still feel its a unfair advantage. I have worked out with men whether it be my FI, brother, or a friend and they ALWAYs kicked my butt. We both watched what we ate and worked out but at the end of the day they have a bigger loss than I. I have nothing against men but my personal feelings we are all not just trying to get healthier. I know a handful of us women could use the pot for what will be alterations on dresses since we are loosing weight :).

MY FI Being the another one said the said the same thing but to be honest yes they lose weight faser but not percentage wise, to loose 10% my FI would have to loose about 25 pounds to beat last seasons winners percentage he would have to loose 32 pounds and he dosn't even want to be that small, hes rather tall

My Fi Is in this because I asked him to be. To support me in doing this so we could make a life style change together not just for this but for life.(And honestly this is just a reason to get him to start eating healthier.) I think It would be a horrible thing not to let guys in and tell girls they cant have their partner be there FI or husband. At least for me my FI is my partner in everything, and If he's not in and sitting in the dinning room with taco bell or a huge burger....ect I'm never going to be able to do this, and the moneys nice but I really just want to look amazing on my wedding day and my FI will be a big part in it

So did you ever watch the show? I am still curious how they handled this issue because I think their pot was a lot bigger than ours so if this is a valid concern it must have been addressed, no?

As for the money, the odds of you winning it are stacked against you, as they are for me and everyone in this. Whether the men get taken out or not, I would encourage you to focus on the losing weight/gaining health thing that way if you win the money it is a total bonus rather than a let down if you don't.

I havnt watch that show for the longest time. I am no one to know what they did. In regards to the bold part I have put in my posts that is my first thing on my mind and I am pretty sure all the other people on the BL6 is over all getting healthy and feeling good about yourself. I will state this again no one will budge on just having this for women so I am over it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
