go mods! you really do a great job with the forum, and having participated in 3 seasons of BL myself, i can attest that ann really sacrificed a lot of her "spare" time and worked very hard to keep the contest running fairly!

would any mod be interested in running a contest if the only prize was a special BL banner (kinda like the MotM contests)? and would people even still want to participate for the comradery and support, if there was no monetary prize? i'm just throwing the idea out there because i imagine the drama of last season was inspired by the high prize amount (and maybe the inclusion of non-forum members). in my mind, a contest that is just for FUN (and health!) could be just as beneficial to our forum community and the contest participants.

mummergirl- I actually PM'd a MOD to ask about this and was told that a member can host if there is no monetary prize. I don't think I have enough time to do it myself, but would definitely partcipate or do what I could to help! Maybe we should start a new thread and ask around?

yay! really? now keep in mind, there is never a guarantee that there won't be drama. we are women, after all, and we get cranky when we are hungry! LOL

according to josie, this has been approved by the mods, but you may want to check to be sure first. then you should start a whole new thread for BL7, explaining that it's just for fun with no monetary prize, list the rules, etc.

let's see how many people will do it when the only prize is a better bod! muscle.gif

I haven't been online with time to post in a few days, and first of all, let me apologize to anyone that I offended by my comments. That was certainly never my intention. So I hope you will all accept my apology for any offense I caused and I also never meant to trivialize the job that the mods do - or imply that they get paid or that they do not have lives outside of the forum. I realize they are volunteers and I know that their job is truly challenging sometimes. My comments were just stemming from my own disappointment of not getting to participate in something that I thought would be fun and motivating. It was selfish to only look at it from my own perspective. Perhaps I should think before I type! It really saddens me that people would cheat in a "contest" such as this - that is just supposed to be for fun and to help each other. I guess it is true that $$ can bring out the worst in some folks.

Thanks for all the work the mods do and for all the members of this great forum for sharing so much of themselves... I have learned so much here and I know it will be invaluable as I close in on that big day!!!

Hugs for all y'all.... smile03.gif

I was getting PMs and emails telling me how this person cheated, and that person was being mean, or something wasn't fair. When all of that started happening, it wasn't fun anymore. So yes, one (or more than one, actually) person ruined it for the rest.

And just so you're aware, this isnt' my job, I don't get paid. The moderators here do what we do because we love this forum, want to see it work for others like it worked for us when we were planning our weddings. We all have lives outside of this forum, believe it or not, and some of us are quite busy - working full time, raising a family, taking care of our pregnant selves, etc. So to say it's a shame one of us doesn't "step up" to deal with this drama and whining hit a raw nerve with me.

Honestly, I was really going back and forth on whether or not to host this again. I really wanted to, it's been great in the past. But some of the reactions I've seen since I said I wasn't going to host made me realize I made the right decision.

For those of you that played fair, and made it a fun competition - thank you. I hope you all succeed in your weight loss and health goals!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
