December 2009 Brides!

Jill - Not to jinx it, but every time you post a message about people booking, you have like 10 more book that week. Hope it works again this time blush2.gif

My last 2 "must have" friends booked this weekend! Whoop Whoop! Now just 2 more "must have" family members need to book. We might end up helping them because it is my aunt and 16 year old cousin. My aunt is going through a divorce thing right now... totally sux for both of them. Anyone else that books is icing on the cake

Did my BD session this weekend. It was pretty nerve racking and I have no idea how the pics will turn out. The photog was super cool and kept saying they all looked good so I guess we'll just have to wait until she sends me some teasers!

Also, the big break-thru from this weekend is that we decided to have our annual Crazy Christmas Sweater Party in Puerto Vallarta during the wedding weekend. I am super stoked about it. I'm going to put the info in our pre-wedding brochure and we'll probably meet and hang out at one of the hotel bars then go dancing in town and just be really obnoxious - LOL.

Jill - your group is welcome to join us on this escapade rofl.gif

-our travel booked
-wedding day itinerary set
-bridesmaids/groomsmen set
-reception sunset cruise booked
-STDs went out 3 weeks ago
-starting my formal invites now
-purchased about 1/2 of the items for OOT bags (there are shopping bags all over our guest room... no time to put the OOT bags together yet!)
-colors picked
-logo done.... but now thinking about changing it
-meeting with site & caterers this week to make a decision on AHR reception

Whew... I feel like I have a ton left to do and just 4 months to do it!!
no worries Brenda, it will work out! i kinda would have preferred to do everything last minute

I wasn't planning on doing Boudoir pictures but I am starting to think maybe it would be fun.

Update ... well, I finally found a dress! Yah! I went dress shopping with my bestie in Atlanta 2 weeks ago and found my perfect wedding dress. If fits perfectly, no alterations needed. It should arrive in another week. And, I found a perfect pair of shoes. Check out my blog to see the dresses I tried on. Now, I am trying to decide if I want to do bridal portraits? I live in the South and this is something that people do here, but I am wondering if anyone else is considering this? I know my mom and dad and probably my grandparents will want these but I can't see having a huge photo of myself in my house. What do you guys think?

Congrats on the dress and shoes!

I'm from Texas and my mom thinks bridal portraits are a must. But I am not doing them. We took some amazing engagement pics and I would much rather have those displayed in our house than something of just me. I do plan on getting some on the wedding day by myself.

But, on the other hand bridal portraits are a great excuse for trial run hair, make up and dress fittings! If I still lived close to my parents I almost guarantee my mom would have talked me into them.

Hi ladies, I have posted on this thread in what seems like forever!
Bridal portraits are sort of a must, but I'm not doing them either. I plan to get a few by myself before the cermony, and that's all. I too would rather have pics of the two of us aroung the house than a bunch of just me.

Also, my sister got married last year and went all out with the pics. She got the top package that included 2 16x20 canvas prints (1 engagement & 1 bridal) but they are so massive she has no where in her regular size house to put them. They are currently leaning against the wall on the floor in her bedroom.

LOL! That is exactly where mine would end up. Actually they would end up on the floor covering the other pictures that I still haven't hung up :-p

I have about 10-15 more must haves for the wedding. My FPIL haven't even booked yet, and that right there, is at least 8. I just talked to my friend forever today and she is going to book next week she said.
I can't wait to see your BD pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Autumn, Isn't it going to be crazy when we get to PV and we'll all be there together!? and we met over this forum?! What day are you guys coming in? and let me know what day the sweater party is!

A sidenote.....I've been collecting clothing for this trip for months - just picking up little items here and there and I have quite the collection! I'm so excited about the wardrobe! hahah!!!!!!!!!
Now, if anyone knows where to find bandeau tops (no tan lines for me...) then I'll be set. I need to find at least one more bathing suite. I've done hours of searching over the internet, but a lot of things are just out of stock, or don't fit me....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
