December 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

There are only 11 of us and I'm waiting until we get there (Cabo). We wanted to do a snorkeling excursion but I've heard conflicting stories between my WC and the snorkeling company. The WC said the water temp. would be too cold, but of course, the snorkeling people said it would not be. Duh, go figure. Anyway, we're just going to wait and see. However, if any of you Cabo brides want to snorkel, whale watch or go on a sunset cruise, Sunrider Tours offered me a discount, ($10 off per person). I just got on their website and emailed, asking some questions, and Mario offered me the discount. I told him I would contact him once I arrived. He seemed to be ok with it.

We aren't doing any excursions for our group. We feel our guests are paying alot of money to come to our wedding we don't want to also tell them what to do while they are there. I know some brides do sunset cruises tho? And i would probably book it in advance if you were going to do that.

Hi girls! How's everyones planning going? Seems like my list is getting longer instead of shorter sad.gif But at least my dress closet is full of beachy stuff since the stores are in full blown winter mode!

I decided to make starfish ornaments for our favors and just got the starfish in the mail! Ugh they were kinda smelly fish, but I set them out overnight so they don't stink anymore. Now I just need some Christmas ribbon and I'll be set! I think they are so cute.

Also FIs dad sent an email saying he wants to help pay for the cake party we are doing the night before the wedding. So I'm excited about that too! We have 4 people celebrating birthdays (including FIs mom) the week we are there so this party is a mini birthday fiesta - whoop!

Ummm is it December yet?!??!

Nadine we are the total slacker month. I love being able to do as little as I want and still know my wedding is going to rok. I went and stalked the Nov 09 thread and all of the girls getting married there chat all the time about everything they have worked on.

As for the ornaments I am just tying some festive ribbon on a 3" starfish with a tag that says Merry Christmas on one side and PV 12/5/09 on the other. $35 for 36 ornaments. I'm also contemplating adding a small card like the one attached in the bag. Guess we'll see how ambitious I get. I used this site Find Starfish, Beach Décor, and Seashell Crafts at US Shell because I used to work with them when I ran a gift shop on South Padre Island. Just called them up and they shipped the stuff the next day. Hmmm... but I'm not sure about them shipping to Canada.

And I just got a call from a good friend and he is going to book his trip this week. He was calling to see if he can bring 2 girls! Bwahahahaha the more the merrier I suppose. I'm sure it will make for some good stories :)

I say that you are still getting married in Mexico---hard for it to be screwed up enough to override that.

Hi ladies, I have also found that my to do list has gotten longer instead of shorter lol I finally just convinced FI that we should do OOT bags so I really should get started on that!

I am totally guilty about being a slacker, because guess what? we still don't have our wedding bands! yikes, not sure if we would be able to order them in time, if not, maybe we'll just use "temporary rings" and then use our actual rings when we do our legal ceremony when we get back... so far this plan sounds good in my head lol...

Hi ladies! Is everyone getting excited! december is right around the corner! I haven't been on in a while. I have been trying to get things done! I made a pre-wedding mailer (used Vista Print) and am working on a welcome book now. I had my first dress fitting last weekend and my next one is next weekend. I also started my packing list. The time is flying by. I feel like I still have so much to do!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
