The fortune bouquet is something I found on Martha Stewart. It is a bouquet made of several different mini bouquets tied together with 1 ribbon. Each mini bouquet has a fortune tied to it. When you toss the bouquet, untie the ribbon and all of the mini bouquets spread out and several people get a piece of the bouquet. I am going to ask all of the ladies to come out for the toss and have someone tell the legend of the bouquet toss. I printed the fortunes on left over vellum from my invites and bought flowers from the dollar tree. The fortunes I used are also attached.

Fortune Bouquets

Bouquet Toss

In ancient times, it was believed that a Bride was especially lucky on her wedding day. Guests would sometimes tear at her dress for a souvenir piece of good luck to take home. The Bride's tossing of her bouquet grew from her desire to offer a good luck souvenir, and prevent guests from bothering her (and her dress!) during her reception.

I downloaded a reciept template. I will fill one out per bag and make up amounts so that FI has $300 worth of stuff and I have $300 worth of stuff. I am also putting a note explaining the contents with each receipt. Both are attached.

Hmmm... I haven't even begun to tackle this! I am thinking that I will send in the songs, but also have them on an ipod as a back up. I was thinking an hour of dinner music (slower love song feel) and then 3 hours sounds good for the dancing music. I figure the DJ can mix in a couple of his own songs if needed.

This may be a silly question ... but, what is the letter to customs and receipt all about? Is this something I should be doing too? Thanks!!

They are for the Mexico duty free allowances and restrictions. I'm taking a bunch of stuff for the OOT bags and some stuff for table decorations and sometimes customs agents will stop and question stuff that looks like it is going into the country for resale.

As for you, I'm not sure what the duty free allowances and restrictions are for Jamaica. Besdes, I don't think you are taking any stuff other than normal vacation clothes plus wedding attire for you and FI so I don't think you need to worry about that kind of stuff.

uh! so, I just started looking at hotels to stay at the night before we catch our flight! and places to leave our car for parking for 14 days! - going to be another huge expense! we live 3 hours away from LAX so we have to leave our car around there while we are gone. and we have to go down to LA the night before our flight.....I thought it would be fun for my FI and I to go the night before and relax instead of rushing at 5am to drive three hours and catch our flight! but the rates I got were too high in my opinion.

just stuff to think about and plan ladies!!!

Congrats Autumn!!! Must feel great to have the legal stuff out of the way wink.gif Thanks for sharing!

I was wondering what everyone is doing re: booking day trips/excursions for you and your guests... are you booking now before you leave and just paying the deposit for your guests? Or would it be better to wait until we get to the resort and figure out how many of your guests actually want to go on these excursions?

I usually don't like leaving these things last minute especially if it involves booking for 20+ people... does anyone recommend a good tour company for the Cancun/Riviera Maya area? Thanks ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
