December 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

I see all these other threads for different months but not December! Wanted to see if there were any others out there?

And if so, what have you done so far in regards to planning?

Where and When are you getting married?

I am getting married at the Dreams Resort in Huatulco on December 29th, 2009. We fly out on christmas day (gasp!) and the guests fly home on New Years Day (another gasp!), but we will fly home on the 8th :)

So far all I have really done is bought my dress, FI's suit, rehearsal dress, sent out STD's, made a wedding website, had most of our guests put down a deposit, picked out bridesmaid dresses and groomsmans outfits.

These are the things I have done:

1. Purchased a dress but now thinking about getting a different one

2. Getting an estimate on the alterations cost

3. Booked a photographer

4. Sent out "Save the Date" email

5. Collecting guests' mailing address

6. Picked out a design for the wedding invitations

7. Purchased the materials for making the wedding invitations

8. Started working on the wedding web site

Hi Ladies, another December 2009 Bride here!

We are getting married Dec 31 in Negril, Jamaica. The exact location should be finalized this weekend (hopefully). But OMG, I am so far behind!!!! I alwayd wanted a DW in Jamaica (my family is from there), but my FI said no. After his first trip to JA in Feb, he said he wanted to get married there, so it has been a last minute thing.

Things I've done:

1. Found my dress (not ordered yet)

2. Got a wedding planner

3. Finalized a list of possible locations

To do List:

1. EVERYTHING!!!!!!

I am really freaked out about being behind after reading so many posts. I am looking at STD templates and will begin working on them when a location is finalized and send the out ASAP.

Hope we can get some more Dec 09 brides to post here, the Nov 09 thread has like 28 pgs!

Hi Karla,

One thing at a time and you will get there. Once you decide on a venue, the rest will be easier.

Hi! I notice you are in Houston. Are you using a local travel agent or someone online? I am trying to find one right now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
