Hey! Welcome to the forum. Im not engaged yet either, however my bf and I have talked about a wedding in October 2010. Im not one of the girls who wants to be engaged for a long time so he has waited to pop the question. You will have so many ideas from here by the time your ready to plan. Good Luck. :)

Well shucks, thanks everyone blush2.gif.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one out there (& wonderful that I am just being "prepared" not crazy bunny_4.gif)

I am off to check out the reviews (which I am addicted to) & to try and scope out a potential venue.

The bf and I have talked about it and I think we would like some place AI so that we can make it affordable for our friends/families and kind of low key. I adored Mexico when we were there (Riviera Maya) - so if anyone can make any recommendations I would appreciate it!!

Cheers!

Congrats on being Awesome and planning ahead!

The BEST Bride-To-Be, in my honest opinion, FULLY realizes she can't plan everything...including the circumstantial events leading up to her proposal!

My would-be proposal was a mess: I, beyond anything of my control, was severely rear-ended/in a car accident, AND my only living grandparent (Dad's Mom) fell gravely ill during the SAME day my (now) fiance had planned to propose to me. "A moonlit walk on the Maryland Shore in the surf and moonlight" never happened the way he'd plannned...

LIFE came up and plans changed. He proposed to me, on bended knee, right in our living room! It was completely adorable and I never saw it coming! I was so wrapped up in the insurance people and my grandmother's health-status that, he simply stopped me where I stood 3 days after the accident. With the ring burning a hole in his pocket, and so much sincerity and love in his eyes, he asked me to "do him the honor of being his wife", and I couln't say anything else to the man I love but "YES!"

We are getting married at SGOR next Spring on May 14, 2010!

Things always work out in the end!.....

Hugs,

Christie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
