Measurements:

For all of our measurements, I rounded up to the next largest number (if it was a half). I also modified some of our measurements based on things I had read in this thread.

Waist - we added 2 inches

Thigh - we added 1 inch

Outer length - we added 1 inch

Trouser leg bottom - Studio Suits emailed me and said they felt the trouser leg bottom should 20, as linen pants are worn wider at the leg bottom (we had put down 18)

Shoulder - they felt our shoulder measurements were too small, so I had them add 2 inches

Sleeves - they felt FFIL's sleeves were too long, but he is really tall, so I left as-is

Hey everyone!! Has anyone ordered the linen pants for the little boys? I am wondering if it is the same measurements as the adults. I know we ordered my fiances and it came in and we do love it but the pants def run small and the jacket is big on him. It is made really well though

I was going to order the linen suits frim the studisuites, but ended up getting it from Jcpenney Stannford linen look pants and vest, they were 32$each and $70 for the jacket, great quality also

Ok so here is my quick review.  I will do a full review after we return from our trip so that I can see the full extent of a Studio Suit wearability.

For reference, I live in Canada.

We ordered:

• 1 full linen suit in Tropical Beige
• 1 linen pant in Tropical Beige
• 1 pure linen long sleeve shirt
• 2 linen short sleeve shirts

 

As other brides have said, production and shipping were fairly quick. (I had a boatload of problems with DHL the shipping company, but that is a totally separate issue from Studiosuits.)

 

The suit was packaged nicely.

 

 

 

Please excuse the colour of my camera (it's a little green) but the colour of the suit was as expected. The suit came exactly as measured and fit my FI the way he liked it.  (I personally think it might be too baggy but FI likes his stuff a little loose). What do you think?  Should we tailor?

 

The suit quality itself is pretty good for the price.  I kind of wish we had dark button options.  But for $99 who can complain? 

 

In these photos, FI is wearing a LONG SLEEVED PURE LINEN white shirt.  It's a little see-through but should be okay under the suit.

 

 

 

We also ordered a short sleeve version in case it got too hot. I was NOT PLEASED with this one. The fabric is super thin and rough.  For FI, we did a preset size (XL).  For my brother, who of smaller stature, usually wearing smaller than adults small but too big for kids sizes, we did a custom short sleeve shirt.  It was WAAAAY too small despite us taking measurements from one of his other shirts. So my brother will have to source another top for the wedding.  Studiosuits does not do returns/refunds.

 

 

Overall Grade: B+

For brides considering ordering.  I would recommend doing pre-set sizes if you want to order shirts. For suits, if your FI already has a fitted suit at home, you can do the custom suit option and measure at home.  If I could re-do my order, I would do pre-set sizes for shirts in pure linen.

Hey I was wondering if anyone had spare swatches to send my way?  Costs like $15 to get it shipped to Canada.  I was thinking of getting a light grey but it doesnt look like there are many options for grey.  So I would take any grey or light tan colors.  I was wondering if the Barn Beige was as grey as it looks.  Must appreciate, and I would pass them on to another person once I was done with them for sure. 

 

Does anyone know if the Waist Coat has the same fabric on the back or do they do that satin material?  Im so nervous about the pant sizing, think I might just go with a standard size and just get it tailored if needed, thankfully my FI and his brother/best man are super close to the same size.
