Oh, thanks! I thought they were just out of stock but they probably won't get those colors back. That's a tough decision...the Greek beige would be my choice too!

TLC4Rock, I was thinking of ordering Old Tan for the GMs but it looks dark, is it as dark as it looks here or was just the picture?

Ladies - FI and I took the plunge and ordered his and the GM suites from studiosuits. We got them back within 4 weeks but half the suits don't fit according to the meansurements including my FI and I made sure we had a professional tailor measure him. The pants and sleeves come up short and the pants are baggy in the butt and thigh. I submitted a complaint to them to see what they can do but we have about 7 weeks left now so we are working on a plan B. I'm really, really disappointed cos we spent so much money and most other people had rave reviews. We purchased 8 suits from them. Grrrrr!!!!!

 

Any ideas on what stores are carrying linen suits this year?

this sucks. I hope your plan B works out in time. I'm looking for suits for me and my groomsmen, and was just feeling comfortable with giving this site a chance, before I read your post.

Sorry you didn't have much luck. But maybe it would be best to bring the suit to a tailor. We ordered 8 suits and 1 was a little snug. We brought it to a tailor and they fixed the butt area and let it out =) they also took out the seem in the seat area and that helped a lot. It would definitely be cheaper than buying a new suit.

We got our GM's suits from Studiosuits.com as well. They all came out beautifully and fit perfect except for the best man. He had a tailor measure him as well. Maybe the tailors are bitter that they are losing business to India LOL. I saw some nice linen suits in Mexx for $199. Sorry about the suits though - is there no way they can be altered? Maybe you could salvage the pants and then go with a nice shirt and no jacket? 8 suits is a lot to just eat the cost of! You could probably sell them off on craigslist.

i was set on getting the suits from this site, but in the end FI wanted to see and feel what he was getting before hand. we ended up getting his suit at Macy's just last week...its Perry Ellis. The pants were $50 and the jacket was $120, both on sale (i think 40% off).

Also for future brides (ie 2011)...we ended up getting the GMs linen pants and shirts by Cubavera. Macy's carries the brand and the pants were $40 (on sale, regular price $70) HOWEVER...at the beginning of spring this year I saw A LOT of these exact pants at TjMaxx for $20!!! I told FI we should get them, but he was on the fence. Last week when we went shopping, we only found ONE at TjMaxx so we had to pay double the price for the others at Macy's. so moral of the story....if you know the look you're going for, SHOP EARLY!!!

OMG thank you for this thread! we've been looking for linen suits/pants at reasonable prices, and this is definitely more than reasonable!
