Excellence Punta Cana Brides Thread

Not "badges" per se, I guess that was a bad term. I meant more like cards that show you belong to Excellence, but it sounds like you don't have to so I will leave the ID plastic things out of my OOT bags since there is no use for them.

I remember the times we cruised, there was a printed credit card type deal with our names on it that we had to have on us at all times. Now that I think about it, it was probably so we didn't get on someone else's ship while we were in port LOL

Since there are no other resorts around, then I see why there is no need to differentiate. Thanks!

What did you guys put in your OOT bags? Templates for welcome books anyone?

I just copied and pasted from an earlier post of mine:

We made welcome bags for our guests that Ana handed out at the rehearsal dinner. We didn't give beach tote bags because our guests were all in the club so they got one in the room, but I think it is a great idea if you are booking regular rooms because that is something a lot of people won't think to bring with them.

We had clear bag monogrammed with our names and date in our wedding colors and stuffed them with monogrammed frisbees (loved this), oriental trading battery operated fans, spanish phrasebooks (from amazon), Bliss Skincare travel set, bug repellant packets, bath and body works mini-antibacterial gel, a dominican republic magnet, and a dominican republic natural plant photo album (the last two from Nancy's shop near Excellence) We packed them the day of the rehearsal dinner and Ana came to pick them up.

The travel skin care sets were heavy, but the frisbees do take up a decent amt of room but weigh very little which is nice. I bet alot of people couldn't care less about the bags, but I'm sure some did! lol

If you don't want to make or bring bags due to restricted luggage space, you can offer the female guests a complimentary manicure at the spa (pretty much equals the price of one finished welcome bag).

I'm still going to put the plastic ID holders on lanyards in my OOT bags because guests WILL have room keys even if they don't have 'badges' in the strict sense of the word. If they are at the beach or the pool they'll want somewhere to keep the room key and a couple bucks to tip for drinks....

Hey Nikki: I noticed you asked a question a few pages back about an outside photographer working with the one you get in your package, did that ever get answered? I am thinking about hiring an outside photographer in addition to the free pics I get in the gold package, but I want to know how that will all workout. I still want the freebie ones :)

I was initially going with Photosouvenir, but I cannot get a reply from them for some reason! I know I have some time still, but at least acknowledge my message! sad.gif

Anyone not pay extra for a DJ and use the resort's speakers/CD player? I noticed it is $100 for 2 hrs. I want to know how good the sound quality really is on that, and if it is worth the cost. That is a little pricey if it is cheesy speakers!

Another question :) ceremony music: did you have to pay extra for speakers for that? We have some songs we want to play while the bridal party comes in etc.

Thanks again!!!!

Khalia-

Yes I did get an answer, the wedding planner/coordinator there just took down when I wanted the resort photographer to come in and take photos and it was no issue at all. When I was looking into the photographer, it was like August/September of last year, and I didn't get an answer from photosouvenir for weeks and weeks. They kept saying oh we don't have pricing, a few weeks later don't have pricing, a few weeks later, STILL don't have pricing. So I found my photographer, and then around late October photosouvenir contacted me back. They're not cheap, I'll say that, but from others around here who've worked with them they do good work. I'd say hang in there, I know it's annoying because you won't hear anything definite from them for a while.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
