Marriott Rewards Question

Who knows, unfortunately... also, the quote the hotel gave me via email was 1K more than the quote on the Marriott website.

I will probably end up just booking on the Marriott website, if only for the reduced stress!

Hey - I have been working for Marriott for 7 years so to answer your question - Yes you can collect points on the suite and you can do so if you book it online or if your TA books it - you can either give your number when you make your reservation, when you check in or when you get your receipt you fax it in to Marriott rewards and they will credit points to your account. You can also get a Marriott Visa and collect points every time you use your visa card. I hope I answered your question - if not please let me know as I would be more than happy to help with this Marriott question and any others.

Cheers

To Marcie or anyone else who might know, another question...

Do you know if Marriotts in Mexico will accept "Marriott Cheques"? I have a Chase Debit Card which I have earned lots of points on (yay!) while paying off this wedding, and one of the reward cash in options is a $50 Marriott Cheque.

This is what it says, specifically:

Marriott Cheques are the ultimate in flexibility and relaxation. It's designed for your pure enjoyment and leisure. Marriott Cheques are valid at all Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance® Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard®, Residence Inn®, SpringHill Suites®, TownePlace Suites®, and Fairfield Inn® locations worldwide. Enjoy a romantic dinner for two. A luxurious spa treatment. Or, stock up on souvenirs. You do not need to be a registered guest to redeem your Marriott Cheques. Other terms and conditions apply.

One or two of these would come in very handy if we could use them around the pool for drinks/snacks and such! And I'd still have enough points left over to get a $100 Amazon gift card - woohoo!

Just want to verify that it will work out of the country though, since we don't really go to Marriotts normally and would probably not get around to using it otherwise...

Hey Jamie,

Wow - good for you & such a great idea! I double checked and yes they are accepted at locations in Mexico. Some things that I noticed in the terms and conditions of the cheques are:

- Marriott Cheques may not be acceptable at concessions within the hotel not owned or operated by Marriott or Renaissance. Please confirm with the hotel prior to making the purchase.

- If a registered guest, charge goods and services to the room and present the cheque at the front desk at check-in or check-out. If a non-registered guest, present the cheque at the time of purchase. The total charges will be reduced by the face value of the cheque. As they don't give you change from the check it is best for you or you guest to use the whole value of the check at once or charge the drink to your room and then you can use the checks upon check out.

I really hope this helps if it not please let me know as I am more than happy to help with any questions you may have.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
