DREAMS Cabo, Questions - PLEASE help :)

Recommended Posts

Hello future/past Brides!

I am (almost) 5 months away from our destination wedding in Cabo.

My fiance and i did our site visit at the end of last year but still have a few questions;

-@ Dreams, how is the nightclub? We are a little concerned wit our reception ending at 10:30pm. Our friends will want to continue the party.

-We are not sure about a "Welcome Party", has anyone had their group meet for drinks at one of the bars then join in on the night shows at Dreams?

-Has anyone sampled the "Caribbean theme dinner" buffet? Or any of the other food at Dreams?

-How many will the hotel restaurants accommodate?

-Any info on the activity selection at Dreams?

Thank you so much!!!

Kristy

Do you know if you can host your welcome dinner at one of the restaurants if all your guests are staying/paying for AI? Additional charge? I would love to use one of the restaurants and just reserve an area. My fiance and I will check out the night shows one of the evenings we are there in April. I'll let you know how they are.

I finally heard back and was told that there is a $29 set up fee for groups over 10. Hope this helps...

We had a private welcome dinner at Portofino for our 40 guests. The additional charge is to cover costs for the wait staff and setup. Our mexican buffet setup was really beautiful and we asked them to set up tequila shots for us.

You won't be able to just "show up" at one of the restaurants and expect to sit together. If there's just a few of you, it shouldn't be a problem (under 10).

I was actually quoted at 15.00 per person because the only place left for a semi-private place was El Patio so it's not too bad for me. I have read that if there are large groups for dinner at the sit down restaurants, wait time for food is long so I want to tell my guests that aside from the reherasal dinner, they should just eat wherever they want on other days .

Hello Soon to be Mrs L.!

You can always go in downtown Cabo to finish the party, 10:30 is indeed early to end your once in a life time event !

A nice night club just opened on the main strip next to Squid roe, it's called the Mandala, the Passion club is also a nice option, and of course squid roe....

Good luck with the rest of your planning!

Desires is more like a lounge but it's nice enough, I actually saw a couple of after parties when we were there...even though it won't be private I'm sure they can let you decorate a bit, at least the tables if you want. They have good music and stays open until 1:30. Someone else mentioned Mandala, it's the newest nightclub in Cabo, great ambiance. Maybe you could reserve tables for some of your guests.

I tried making reservations at any of the Dreams restaurants for our rehearsal dinner but they are very strict with their no reservations policy. It would be around 20 of us so I cannot just show up hoping they will sit us together..they can't guarantee it. I still don't know what Im doing for my rehearsal or my welcome dinner. Im thinking of a tequila tasting, El patio, I have to speak to Yesica to see how that goes...

Oh! I like the lounge effect. That's probably where we will end up after the reception!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
