So Erik is now talking about Honeymoons, I mentioned I wanted to go to Italy (Venice). So we were thinking of having wedding in May instead of June. Since it's nice and sunny in May. Is this a good time to go to Italy though?

Or should we wait till June?

I just talked to the surf and sand resort and they told me I can't even reserve the date for the wedding with them till 9 months before the wedding....So now i'm planning this....so frustrating!!! I want my date! Sorry for going a little nuts there. LOL

I went to Italy in June about 10 years ago and it was really hot and really crowded...I think you're best to go before June to avoid the family/tourist travel season. We're doing a delayed honeymoon to Italy in late september.....tourists will hopefully be fewer then.

my mom is going this November right before it gets too cold...but if you can go in may, but what if you get a teaching job? honestly its really hard to take off time at the end of the year, I am super busy right now and I am sure elem. is similar.

I love Italy.

The best times are May, September, and October.

You don't want to go too early in May, though. The first week some hotels and restaurants are still closed. If you're sticking to the main towns, you'll be fine, but places like the Cinc Terre (SO GREAT THERE) and Portofino will still be breaking in their hotel staff members. That happend to me on one of my trips there and that was the third week of May.

I avoid mid-June through Aug. 31. The crowds are bad and it's really hot.

ITA with Natasha.

June will be really crowded. In August/ early Sept a lot of the towns shut down as the locals go on holiday.

The S&S is a nice hotel but gets very mediocre reviews. Are there any other hotels / venues that you are looking at in OC?

I was in Italy from the end of May through the end of June. All I know is most of the trip we were comfortable --- not too warm or cold (but I am from Florida) but our last stop was Milan at the end of June and it was horrible, pouring sweat disgusting...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
