when to give out fans?

Recommended Posts

I am putting together OOT bags. So far I have fans, shot glasses/ votive candle holder, and photo albums. I was planning on handing them out at the welcome party. Should I save the fans and put them on the chairs for the ceremony, or should I just include them in the bag? I am afraid people will forget to bring them to the ceremony.

I'm going to have the WC put them on the chairs at the ceremony.. if you want ppl to have them at the wedding, it's best to give them out there... otherwise, I don't think anyone will think ahead and bring them on their own..

Are you ladies planning on giving them out to all guests or just the women? I was originally going to give them to everyone but my mom thought that men wouldn't use them (since they are kind-of girly looking). I bought the medium size palm fans. I'm curious to hear what you all are thinking!

I agree with your mom or you can have a few extra incase a male would like to have one cause someone may but most probably will not. If that is the case I would have them passed out so that whomever wants one can have one. If you place them on the chairs you will likely need one for everybody and most men will not use them if they look girly.

i would make them available AT the ceremony, not in the OOT bags.

however, i'm setting mine out (one at each table setting) at the reception. it's really windy at our ceremony spot so they'll be unnecessary there, but i know people get hot & sweaty when they're dancing! i don't care if they are girly, either. it will make the table look nice, LOL. if the men aren't secure enough in their sexuality to fan themselves, then they can just sweat for all i care! LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
