We're having a luau style at home reception because it is more laid back and fun. Since we're doing the luau style, we've decided to have empty candy bags at each seat. We are going to set up a candy buffet, but because an actual candy buffet can get pretty expensive with the glass jars.....we are using sandbuckets( new ones, obviously) with shovels.good luck!

I've been to tons of weddings and the only favors I kept were wine glasses. When it comes to favors you want to make sure people will keep them and that they can fit into anyone's decor in there households. Anything too cutesy and kitchy will probably be thrown away or stuffed in a box.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm glad to read that there are some who are doing wedding favors as well as others who are not. I will have to think it over, but I don't think it will be in our budget to do them. :-)
Hi! We are thinking of doing an icecream bar/sundae station at our "hasta-la-vista party" /send off party...having a casual taco buffet and no favor! Question for you- did you send a save the date with both party dates or just wedding? Was it you that's doing the evite for AHR? Thanks

We are only doing save the dates for DW the at home thing just doing invites 3-4 months in advance since its more casual and not a whole afternoon thing it's still far enough out to get a good response

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
