Wedding Favors for AHR/Send off Party?

Recommended Posts

I just had a question that I just am not sure what the answer is to. We are planning on having and AHR/Send off party a couple of weeks before our DW. It is a very very casual bbq/picnic. We are going to state that no gifts are necessary, etc (with appropriate wording), and because it's so laid back, we're not even sending out paper invites, we plan to just send out an evite.

Now, because it's so casual, are we expected to have wedding favors for all of our guests? Is anyone else doing wedding favors? I wasn't sure what the correct etiquette/protocol was. I really appreciate all of your advices!

We are, but our AHR will be a formal reception, this is what we're doing (there will be approx 200 guests, but we're going to do the wine stoppers 1 per couple):

and for all the kids, filled with jelly beans:

If we were having an informal AHR then I don't think i'd bother with favours! One less hassle, ya know?

I am still trying to decide if I will do favors for mt AHR also. I think you could get away with something pretty cheap if you wanted, but mostly everyone is there to see you and not there for the favors. I don't think anyone will even miss them if you don't have any

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
