wiring money

did anyone else feel weird wiring money?...

I just finished wiring money and I did sort of feel like I was sending money to the land of no return....any feedback to put me at ease?

I sent it to Paulina for photography, so I know it's safe. I scratched out my bank account number but left the transfer confirmation number.

I guess I'm just anxious to get a confirmation back from her, but I am excited to have that checked off my list so early on.

I was surprised, today it was easy. A while ago, I started a new account at Wells Fargo and tried to wire money to Dreams and it was such a hassle!!! But today, I wired it from my bank, WaMu and it was FREE and easy! It is a pain, but once it's done, it feels great to have another thing checked off!

And it took her days to finally get my confirmation from accounting. She kept saying dont worry about it I was like ummm, $500 bucks I am sorry I am a little worried and I want a Confirmation! I was the Same way....but I def didnt want to give out my debit card information for SURE!

Good Luck girly!

This may not make you feel at ease but its not different that doing a wire transfer to anybody in the world. You MUST know where its going or once it has been sent it will be gone. For the most part, WT are a big hassle and I personally hate them. Also, being a expat in Mexico... no banks here will allow me to use their services or even take out money with my cards from back home. I am forced to use bank machines or transfer money into local accounts.

Best of luck with all your plans.

I used to work at a bank and dealth with wires all the time, so it doesn't bother me at all. Tons of my wedding stuff is being paid by wire transfer.

I had some customers give the wrong information before. The wire would just reject and need to be resent with the right info. If someone is saying that the money is gone and there's no confirmation to where it has gone, you're getting scammed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
