Ipod or DJ?

Recommended Posts

What's better having someone man an Ipod or getting a DJhuh.gif

I like the fact of not spending extra money if I use my ipod, but i'm not sure if people would have more fun and the party atomosphere might be better with a DJ?

Any ladies out there use an ipod and regretted it? or vice versa

Thanks!!!!

Hi jerzygirl! The party is what you make of it. I am definitely going to save some money and just use my Ipod. Make different folders on your Ipod. For example, dinner music, dancing music, etc. See if a friend or family member will be in charge of the music. If you put them in different folders though you shouldn't need much assistance on changing the songs.

I had thought about that but a friend of mine who did that said they wished they had a DJ to help out. She said everyone was playing around with it and changing it before a song would even be over. I decided to get a DJ for that reason. My friend said that she thinks a DJ will make the reception go a little smoother.

I had an Ipod and we purchased the portable Bose docking station. We were so happy. People did pull out their Ipods and put on songs from their lists, but everyone had a good time. Maybe we should have told one person keep an eye on it since we had our play lists and didn't really need anyone standing at it. But I am glad we didn't spend the money on a DJ but on the Docking station because I use it every day and this summer it will be next to my pool. Way more value out of it then a DJ. IMO

Our wedding is small (30). The beach house we rented has speakers around the pool area, game room, kitchen, living rooms, etc... We are hooking our laptop up to it. My fiance has some dj application with 1000s of songs. I plan on doing the folder thing for the various music during the different parts of the night. I also asked all my guests to give 2-5 songs that makes them happy or want to dance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
