Anyone NOT making welcome bags??

Recommended Posts

We are going to do OOT bags but I think I am going to buy the bags ahead of time, but then go to the Walmart in Play Da Carman once I get down there and load them up with room snacks and other use things. This way I dont have to load up my suitcase.

I wasn't going to make them at first but then thought about making an inexpensive one. Just first aid kits, aloe vera, some sea shell books marks I found a $1, snack stuff from Sam's and a small hangover bag.

I went to a DW last year, and received an OOT bag.  More than half the stuff in the bag never got used.  It was a nice gesture though.  There are only 6 of us in total going to Jamaica, so my FI and I are planning and paying for an excursion off the resort as a thank you to the 4 guests - I think a cruise to Rick's Cafe.  Plus, the BM and MOH will receive nice gifts at our going away dinner.

I would like to do them but not sure how many guest we will have and it seems like a lot of stuff to bring with all the luggage restrictions and customs,it seems like a headache!

I love all the ideas that I see for welcome bags and OOT bags but I'm not doing it for my wedding. We have between 40-60 guests coming and we decided to sponsor a group trip as a thank you for coming. Plus it's less stuff to carry and pack - for you and your guests.

I'm opting out of this idea too. Phew! Thank God for this thread. I was starting to feel like a naughty bride. What my FI and I came up with yesterday is to make our favors. We're going to buy mini blank/bare books and put in pictures and quotes about love. Some of the quotes will be in our wedding vows, but our guests won't realize it until afterwards. Thought it would be a personal way of sharing our moment beyond the day. Also, we'll put inscriptions in each book for each of our guests with a personal note thanking them for witnessing our joy. I'm really excited about this project!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
