Feb 2010 ROR - Wedding Pack has arrived!!

Recommended Posts

Hi desser,

Thomsons Weddings tel: 0871 971 0545

Yes, reading other reviews when you get your confirmation pack you can email the WC with your requests for extra's, the wedding venue that you would prefer (beach etc) and reception request's, I think the WC then emails you 2 months before you arrive to confirm/check your requirements. You can also add extra's when you meet with her at the hotel, to choose flowers, photo package etc.

We are going to collect the wedding confirmation pack from the TA's tomorrow morning, but I have already asked them for the email details for the WC and I have emailed her to try to confirm my requested time. I also tried to see what times were still showing available for the 4th March on the Riu Wedding site but could not do this because it said no longer available for bookings on that date.

What is so frustrating is that the requested date and time was free when I booked with Thomsons (holiday/ W package) for the 4th & 5th March, but because we wanted to make sure all the paperwork was all in order, we decided to book the Wedding package with Thomsons. I also gave them 2 date's because I really wanted a 4.00pm wedding.

How can they now say I have to wait until I get there to find out the time? When you can book direct with the hotel? & that's how they book it too? OMG I am so angry!

Hope everything turns out okay for you cos I know you have waited so long. Good Luck.

thanks for that baj

theres only 2 dates we can get married as were there easter w/end you cant get married on the fri or monday, so hopefully we will get one of those dates!? and we also want 4pm. you need to know your time because if you cant get 4pm and end up with an earlier time you have to make plans for the gap in the day and it will be to late when you arrive to arrange things!! it all seems to be just waiting around for other people very frustrating!!

will ring soon will let you know what they say

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yes, I know what you mean about a gap in the day if it's a early wedding, I wonder if you have a early wedding dinner or if you have to get changed and then dress up again for the night? OH I don't even want to think about it!

Not really decided yet, I will see what is in the information pack tomorrow and will then try and see the comments of previous brides in their reviews and then I will make a decision.

Would like the 6.30pm dinner even if we do get the 4.00pm Wedding and I will email the WC sooner rather than later I think to try and book the reception venue.

Also want a beach wedding? How about you!

As soon as you get your confirmed date and time email your requests to the WC and hopefully she will reserve your dinner and reception venues and you can then look forward to your special day, without the hassle you have had to put up with so far.

Hi desser,

Well picked up the confirmation pack from Thomsons this morning, just like shellk said, it was a very thin folder containing a letter to confirm the date and a list of extra's, flowers, DJ, bigger cake etc, Wedding coordinator contact details (which did not have the email details or the telephone number for the Clubhotel in Negril) what a suprise! and a list of frequently asked questions. They did not know why no one phoned me back yesterday and they can not contact the Wedding Dept now until Monday.

Anyway as the TA could see that I was getting stressed with it all, she emailed what she thought was the Riu Clubhotel and requested that they emailed me to either confirm the time of the wedding and / or to find out if I would have to wait until I arrived at the hotel.

When I got home I had received a email from Riu to confirm that the message had been recieved and then I received a really nice email from Keneika at the Riu Tropical Bay later this p.m to inform me that she had recieved my email and would forward it onto Dionne at the Riu Clubhotel.

At least I now have the correct email contact details for the Clubhotel WC and hope to hear from Dionne within the next couple of days.

My H2B is really laid back about it all and keeps telling me it will all work out in the end, so just hopeing he his right.

desser,

try not to stress too much.i think 2 months before you go the hotel contacts you to organise some of the extras etc etc then when you get to the hotel the wedding place and time is confirmed.the no for weddings dept is 0871 9710545.

what are we like we have a bdw wedding to cut out the hassle etc but now we have started we want things to arrange and sort out.we just need the important things like time etc sorted in our heads.

i have been dress shopping today and have picked 2.im going back next week.1 is pretty, simple and practical and the other is beautiful, beaded more of a wedding dress.i am torn.love both of them.

i dont know where in uk you are but there is a great shop in ollerton if you are near and want the info let me know.

Hi Shellk, sounds like you are stuck for choice, but I am sure you will pick the right one.

Did you get written confirmation from Riu in writing or did you just get the confirmation from Thomsons of your confirmed date?

I am getting really confused with it all.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
