Linen Suits in Vancouver and Phoenix (where to buy?)

Recommended Posts

So, the wedding is 6 weeks away, and we still don't have a suit for the groom! We're Canadian but my fiance is going to school in AZ, and we'll be in Van this weekend.

He is hoping to get a Tan Linen suit, but so far we aren't having much luck. He wants something fairly high end, but not too ridiculous (under $1500 and cheaper is good!). We've called around to Holt Renfrew, Harry Rosen, and Mark James, but we don't really know where else to try. It seems like no one is getting much linen this year (or when they do, it's white!). Any suggestions? We're not actually from Van, and we although we prefer to buy from a smaller store we don't know where to look.

If we can't find anything in Vancouver, we have to find something in Phoenix, so I'll take suggestions for there too (we've already called Nordstrom's, Neiman Marcus, and Saks without much luck).

The other problem is that my fiance is quite small (a 36, or a small 3cool.gif and a lot of stores only stock bigger sizes. We found a great Z Zegna suit for about $800, but we can't find the right size anywhere!!

Any help would be much appreciated! I'm trying my best not to panic :S

TIA

Hey Lyndsey,

My FI got his suit at Dillards when we were in phoenix two weeks ago. Its a tan/sand linen Perry Ellis Suit. I think it was like $70 for the pants and $165 for the jacket?! We had budgeted for $1500 but it ended up being exactly what he wanted. Maybe check there?

HI! I work at Banana Republic and we have a Chino Suit right now that is very very nice in a khaki color, we already bought a suit for my FI elsewhere but then this showed up. Great for a destination wedding. I cant remember if we stock 36's in the stores but you may be able to get it online. If you are in town you may as well check it out. Good Luck & have fun here in Vancouver!

We just bought my fiance and his groomsmen calvin klein tan linen suits from the men's wearhouse (it's under 2009 wedding looks - make a splash) - they are listed as not available yet online, but they are in the stores if there's one near you.

thanks guys! We're going to try the "non-online" stores first because my FI has a really hard time with jacket fit, but I'm sure those online stores have good return policies so we'll check them out next week if this weekend doesn't go well. I can't believe I didn't think of Dillards; it's actually one of the only department stores in the small town we're living in!

Corvette, are there pants sold as separates, or linen shirts in BR right now? I need to find stuff for the GM too :S

My FI got the banana republic chino suit and it looks amazing! Not linen, but still a relaxed suit look. They sell them in separates, and i noticed yesterday that BR also has linen pants for men in (beige), but not sure if there is a jacket with it, i don't think so! I was in the pacific center store, so i am sure all of them have the same stock

Good luck

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
