Any other brides for Rose Hall Resort?

Recommended Posts

FutureMRS.,

I honestly didn't even think to ask about that when I did my visit. I really had no clue what to ask, but now that you mentioned it I really wish I would have thought of that. I tried to get some advice from some of the other brides before if left about what I should be asking during these visits, but no one ever replied to my message sad.gif I am supposed to be speaking with a travel agent tomorrow and I will see if he has any info regarding credits or comps. After seeing the prices the RHR was charging per person for the reception, it pretty much sealed the deal that I definitely would not be able to afford it. I really hope I haven't made things more stressful for you... and I will let you know what the travel agent says about the comps.

Jaime
I've seen a few reviews and heard from my travel agent that weddings there can really get quite expensive if you don't keep an eye on the costs. I believe the reception is the part you have to worry about because of add ons and per person costs. I guess maybe if you are not having too many people it wouldn't be much of an issue, but I don't know personally...just what I've heard. Make sure you get everything in writing!

Christina- No you haven't made it more stressful for me. I have just been having a tough time narrowing down my choices, but that's just me. I guess I'm just indecisive. But yes, you should check that out with your TA. One of my co-workers daughters is getting married in Mexico and they traveled there a couple of months ago to check out the resort-and it was definitely comped by the resort (but they had to book there in order for it to be comped).

Hi,

I'm new the this forum and so far I find it really great. I found this posting about the Iberostar Rose Hall Resort and I just wanted to let you know that I have booked my wedding there fo December 2009. I have never been to the resort but the pictures I have found online are amazing and our TA said that it's a great resort. Iberostar is really good. I just wanted to give you some information (I haven't pick all the details yet) the wedding package cost are $2100 US and that includes the marriage certificate, dinner for up to 8 people, flowers for the bride and groom and few other things. Then there are the additional costs, a few examples: for each additional person over 8 it is $18 US/person; if it's a group over 40 then you have to book a restaurant and it's $800US; if you want open bar during dinner that's $8/person. I have more information if you want it. My finance and I are keeping pretty low key so our costs shouldn't be too high. (fingers crossed). Please feel free to contact if you would like to discuss more about the resort.

Hello girls,

I am getting married at the Rose Hall Resort and Spa in less then 2 months...there have been some additional cost throughout my planning but I have upgraded everything and my guest list got out of control...if you stick to the packages you can easily have a resaonable priced wedding...I got my entire stay 7 nights free with all my room bookings but you do not get a room for free if you do not have your guest book through the hotel directly but I am sure TA's know how to get around that...I did go last June before booking for a site visit and LOVED it...I am getting married on the beach and not in a Gazebo, or the golf course we wanted a DW to be near the ocean and no shoes on the beach :) PM me if you have any questions I have been working with RHR for a long time and have talked them down to some great deals

I am wondering if there are any other brides out there who are getting married at the Rose Hall or have gotten married there and can give us some feedback.

I am so glad that I've found this forum, there is so much helpful information and great ideas!! Thanks so much!!

Hi, Jaime.
My wedding date is August 14, 2009. Same as your date. Which resort did you decide to go with?

Erica--I would love to chat with you more about what packages and extras you decided on, how many people you have, etc. I have been pretty laid back about the whole thing, but now I've been hearing about extra costs and stuff...it's starting to freak me out!

uspoiledme--I think that you are the first person on here that I have seen with the same date as me! We decided to go with Rose Hall Resort & Spa in MB.

Jaime, I have some ideas. Maybe we can share costs on a photographer, decor, favors, etc. What are your wedding colors? Have you chosen favors, are you doing OOT bags? What time is your wedding? How many guests will you have? Maybe we can speak over the phone to discuss? Please send me an email at mary@marybrealty.com and I can send you my phone number or you can send me yours.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
